Great instruction video , thanks. I considering to buy triumph bonneville, last carburetor model from 2008 and Im thinking is it a still good option, or choose fuel injection Cheers

You are welcome. It is indeed a difficult choice. I would say it mostly boils down to the use you are going to have of the bike. Bear in mind that carburetter models are easier to work on because less electronics are involved and they respond much better to performance tuning, but they require more regular maintenance (and the know-how to get it done properly). Whereas fuel injection are more accurate, require less maintenance but are more electronically complex. If you intend to use it for leisure, I would go with the carb model, but if you intend to use the bike on a daily basis, the injection model will probably be less of a hassle in the long run. I hope this helps!

Same bike, have fuel and spark but wont start ? turns over nicely but wont start up. The bike had been running, last ride was a week prior and no issues. Any suggestions

Maybe it has flooded? Make sure the spark plugs are nice and dry. Take them out and leave the engine overnight with the plugs off so the excess fuel can evaporate (if there is any inside the cylinders). When an engine has flooded, the petrol washes the oil off the cylinder bores and can reduce compression pressure sufficiently for staring to be difficult. Let me know how it goes.

I have no spark in spark plug wires. What should i do

Make sure your spark plugs are in good order and gapped properly, also that your coil pack is getting power when the ignition is turned on. Check the fuses, check that ignition cut-off switch is letting current through, make sure no wires are loose on the ignition barrel. If your coil pack does get power, check for good earthing back to the frame (continuity test). If power is delivered and earth is good, then the coil pack gave up the ghost. Best of luck.

Tappets need adjusting I would think.

Could be. The knock sounded like it was coming from the bottom-end. It stopped soon after, thankfully. Are these hydraulic tappets? I can't remember

Doesn't sound terribly healthy, eh? These bikes are really reliable, if not especially engaging, so it's interesting to come across one that's giving trouble and sounds like that. You going to investigate? One thing, you disconnected the positive terminal first . Just for anybody copying it should be the negative first and the opposite when reinstalling. Looking forward to the next one.

Not sure what the knocking was, it disappeared eventually. Lack of lubrication somewhere I suspect. Right you are about disconnecting the battery! I forgot the reason why Negative needs to be disconnected first...
