It’s a fair point. I always had the same attitude towards demos. Then I volunteered at the shop, bought a very hard ridden demo Speed Triple, and speaking to the tecs...they all say it’s overblown caution, when a bike is built like the new Thruxton it’s virtually bulletproof, those same tecs have a very harsh view of a new, unridden Ducati Supersport. But again, fair point. Check out calmoto’s vids...now that’s hard riding on new and demo bikes!

While I'm here and only bought ex demo bikes. Never had issues with them. Some of them come with extras fitted and still cheaper than a new stock bike

The gloss finish looks alot better imo.

The current sales price is $13,799 in Brea, CA. So add at least $2k for tax, lic, shipping, prep...I say otd is $16k.

I don’t consider the 1200 cc Thruxton RS a beginner bike or first bike. Dirt bike experience would make a difference. It is, however, a smooth delivery of power and if you are comfortable on it, feet firmly on the ground as in it’s not too tall, be mindful of the sport mode and power of the bike, it’s aggressive seating, and spend time carefully getting used to it having already passed the MSC, it’s do-able.

@@poit444 ive done my MSF course and i have experience riding bike like 125cc yamaha. But im thinking to make a big leap to 1200. Is this bike hard to ride?

@@HJRROSE I would put it in a mid-range or moderate level of difficulty. How tall the person is also matters.

Oh man, it’s such a great, smooth running bike, not just to ride (honestly my Speed3 is better in performance) but also to have in the garage. It’s just beautiful art.

@Jordan Adams-Respectfully, I'd disagree, a bit. I'm looking at the Thruxton, coming from a several cruisers, I have always loved the cafe style bikes. Granted both the R & the RS will out perform my Indian, but I'd like to know if the RS is worth the jump from the R, as I really do like the new color scheme & the extra HP is enticing for the RS...but as someone on a moderate budget, debating whether to save just a bit more & hold out. If you have any input on the 2, I'd greatly appreciate your opinion as well. Cheers bud.

Oh I see it, silver ice..I have the same from ‘18. It’s absolutely beautiful in Silver Ice and IMO you can only really appreciate in person.

@@poit444 IMO these duo tones matte/glossy finished are not fitting the overall classic bike look because they distract from the clean lines. It’s like your bike has ADHD!
