Free Spirits Air Deflectors Installation and Review. Some people say the Tiger 900’s put out too much heat on your knees and legs. I’m one of those people. It’s been in the triple digits in Texas over the last couple months and I’ve really started to notice the heat coming off the radiator. My knees and crotch get really hot so I decided to do something about it. The Free Spirits air deflectors are designed to reduce hot air from air-scoop to the legs. Well, they seem to work a little so made this video to show you what they are, how to install them, and review the results.
I purchased the deflectors from British Legends.

As a chilly Canadian, I consider the heat issue less like a problem and more like a solution.

I have this problem with my tiger 900 GT Pro, especially on summer days. It is true that, in my case, with route clothing the heat is reduced, even so I think that with this accessory the reduction of heat can be important. I'm going to buy it right now, I think that for €45 I have a lot to gain and little to lose. Thank you very much for your video and advice.

I'm on my 2nd 900 GT Pro and I don't usually feel heat on my knees, maybe because I ride a little further back. However, I have heard other folks that did experience the heat on the knees. I made some deflectors out of old mild cartons, 3M velcro, a small piece of aluminum and heat reflective foil tape, just for a test. The first ones I made I just used regular velcro and after several months the 100 degree heat made the velcro adhesive give way. No such problems with the 3M velcro. I scooted up on the seat and the deflectors worked well. Defecting the air an inch or two out in the airstream is all I think a person under six foot would need. It is nice to see someone sells a product that works, although it was fun to make my own.
@timetomoto
@timetomoto Жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing that Flat Cap Cafe Racer. The product is so simple and it's something most people could easily make a version of it with plastic or aluminum. I agree that the little bit of air flow it diverts makes a difference.

No issues yet. They’ve actually saved my bike a couple times. I’ve dropped it a couple times and they’ve held up. Both sides did bend in closer to the body when it was dropped on each side. The bars are close to the brake and shifter but not an issue for my size 9 feet.

@@timetomoto I ordered the heat shields, I hope they work. I wish they had kept the 120/120/120 camshaft firing intervals, the vibrations are a bit much above 5500 rpm, but below that they don’t bother me. The 2017 1200 that I owned was too heavy and big for me so I got the 2022 GT pro 900. Now I’m longing for more power. There is no perfect motorcycle!

@timetomoto
@timetomoto Жыл бұрын
Hi Jack. It’s hard to explain because it’s a hack using a small Ram mount and a bicycle seat mount. I mentioned it briefly in the video link below around the 2 minute mark. I basically rigged up a temporary solution using and old bicycle seat mount. I’ll be doing an install video on a proper GPS mount in the future. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bdOnm7Grmb2rpHk.html I ordered this and will be installing it in a few weeks. evotech-performance.com/products/ep-garmin-compatible-sat-nav-mount-triumph-tiger-900-gt-2020-onwards?user_id=184161379&list_generator=order_line_item&context=order_management

@@Yurii_Ko sounds good. I will say that I’ve had multiple comments where people claim they don’t notice the heat. But if you search you’ll see other people experiencing the same issue I have.
