I have just bought a 2021 model and my start up is instant and had no issues of any kind like bar vibrations or hot engines and a few other supposed issues. I know a few others who own a 2020 version like this who have had no issues. Every bike has ups and downs any brand but biking as you know is full of brand loyalty and no matter how much of a dog some bikes are people will vindicate their purchase and run down other brands no matter how good other bikes are. I will buy a Fuel Can and put some tried and trusted Michelins on when the time comes but this bike is the first time I feel I don't have to change my suspension as it works fine. That's a first in 35 years for me.

Great review - I've been enjoying my own GTPro here in Aus' for the last 9 months or so and agree with pretty much everything you mentioned. However, I did bristle slightly at your (well-meaning) accolade of "it's a great commuter"! I've taken mine on rides ranging from 1 day to 1 week long and it just laps it up. Fantastic review. Lok forward to more.

I have a Zontes ZT125U which is fully keyless including the fuel cap and seat lock and I love it. You do have to press a button to unlock and lock it so its not like you walk away not knowing if it's locked or not and it only has a range of 1.5 meters.

Good little review thanks. Did you mention that the GT Pro has a centre stand? The regular GT doesn’t. A centre stand is a big plus for chain maintenance. As you say, if only one bike then this is a good all rounder. I’m down sizing from 1200 machines for this practical and safe machine. I remember an XRT Tiger i had that it was safe and practical. Great pillion for a passenger too. The luggage will be great too. Yes good review thanks. Cheers.

I do almost all my riding in the Paris region, so I traded it in for an Aprilia Tuono 660, which I am loving! The Triumph is fantastic in the sports aventure category. The TIGER 900 has loads of character. GREAT ALL ROUNDER. Swiss Army Knife level versatility MID-Size. Plenty capable of OFF-PAVEMENT (dirt, gravel, fire road - with 80/20 tires), but the Rally is the Off-ROADER. TFT and Bluetooth needs some improvement. Really good handling and balance (if you do extended off pavement - decrease rear preload and increase front preload - slightly extends rake). My GTPRO is a great commuter, camper and long haul Grand Tourer. Cruise control, quick shifter, suspension and rider mode/mapping with a flick of the thumb...great brakes...50mpg/225-240 range...top marks for liveability.

interesting thing....i loved the look and the cp3 of the yamaha tracer, i was dreaming about getting a triumph tiger 900 gt, but in the end , this morning i ordered a BMW fx900r with all the accessories on the low suspension version. i guess , the BMW has a very sporty feeling when you need it, and a motorcycle than i can actually can flat foot which i think is the most important thing on a bike like this.

It seems that the Tiger 900 is another compromise Adventure bike in the same way that the Honda NC750X is - i.e. is more tailored for road use rather than off-road. It looks/sounds like a good upgrade step from the NC rather than going the whole hog and going for the Africa Twin 1100. I don't mind if you completely disagree with that - would be interested in your opinion though... Did you get a sense for the curve ABS, or was that a limit that you didn't push to? If there was one big thing you would change with the bike what would that be? Maybe something like that will happen with the 850? Maybe there's an after-market opportunity for the pillion foot rests... I really enjoyed the review and the other videos you made on the bike.

Could have done with that TC on my Tiger, V cold day, just got out my garage, at a cross junction, one of those stupid ones where there are no filter lights, and you have to both approach in the middle while other traffic goes by to turn left or right... As I was about to turn right the car I previously thought was going quite slow, was going pretty fast, gunned it a little bit, and the back wheel lost traction and well the bike slide under me, and I dropped it :(, broke the headlight fairing which costs STUPID money to get new. lol

Having passed my test at the beginning of December and being 6ft 3 and probably the same around the middle🤣I looked at the 900 and 1200 as I needed a large bike to be comfortable. They were both great bikes as much as I could get from sitting on them in a show room but still felt a bit small. I ended up going with a Africa Twin as I felt it had more of a commanding seating position and potentially a bit more presence on the road. The weight when pushing around the garage is a pig but a big light bike is a pipe dream. Great content as always 👌

I'm a little on the short side and am on tippy toes with lowered suspension 1200GS. Actively considering the Tiger 900 as lighter and lower for easier handling when pulling up, manoeuvring etc. These would be obvious benefits - but any views on what I'd be losing?

What is the purpose of the nose/beak? Why is it needed in addition to the front fender? Is it something to do with air flow? How is the wind flow at high speeds? I really just want a windscreen like this on my Street Triple; wish Triumph would make one like this for it. I just do day rides on paved roads without a pillion, but have to do some freeway miles to get to the roads I like and the wind blast gets old fast. There are aftermarket solutions, but I'd prefer something from Triumph. I'm only 5'10" and 140 lbs so I like the lower weight and smaller size of the Street Triple. Plus I love the extremely refined engine, fueling, braking, handling, finish. Triumph knows how to design and build a premium bike that looks and works really well.

I know this is late, but I have the 2021 Street Triple R. I am 5'6" I know short lol The oem optional fly screen actually does quite a bit for the bike. On the highway, it does feel like you're blown around. With flyscreen the bike feels stable, and the wind now hits me in the upper shoulders instead of the center chest. I tried the Puig screen, and it ruined the looks of the bike and caused a lot of turbulent wind noise.

Great review! I have a 2018 Vstrom DL650 and have considered trading in for the Tiger 900 GT PRO. Just tested the GT Pro but it was a 7 mi road/hwy test drive, really hard to assess and compare against my vstrom...and remain undecided. In no way does the Vstrom compete with what you get with the GT PRO Heated grips, cruise, etc, etc), but I notice a different feel in the handlebars, a slight vibe and/or "vibration - if you will. I really like how flickable, light and powerful in the higher gears. Take-off seemed a bit slower than the Vstrom. All in all, this is a tough decision and just curious what your thoughts are now- given that this review was in 2021... Any feedback from other Vstrom owners who may have considered same and/or actually did go with the Tiger...? Thank you! R/Roni

With the screen up it was directing it in my face once (a common issue I find with all screens on bikes) on the lower setting I clearly was not getting the same protection but the buffeting affect on my head stops. I am exactly 6,4, and the screen that comes default on bikes is usually for shorter folks. The screen that comes with my Tiger stock is very short (I think because its the sports tourer version) and I found that the wind would be going right into my chest and making me get worn out on long journeys in my arms. I bought a VERY tall screen which now puts it over my head, but looks kinda funny. But I have also riden bikes where the screen puts it into my face and then my neck aches. I dont remember where but there is a way to measure how tall the screen should be and I did that to buy one the correct size. Also one thing to mention is in the summer, having the wind go over your head, you get very hot, because of the heat coming up from the bike.

How many miles do you get out or one tank

I can usually get 400km per tank on mine. That is usually past the range indicated, so I fill at about 360km.

I would of bought this bike in a heart beat, but the color choices are so bland and boring; it might as well of been painted beige.

I am in the market to get one bike like the triumph 900 gt or similar... I don't usually comment on triumph motorcycles but THIS is a GREAT overview... I'd say its the best one I have seen if not amongst the best ones... Job well done mate!!!
