Thank You for posting this video. I have the same Tiger 900 gt pro (2023 same color), I'm 5'5" 28 ish inseam and I'm fine alone on the bike, but when i carry a passenger (wife), it was a bit much for me at times when stopping on uneven ground etc. I ordered the links from Lust Racing got here in about a week (USA) - the bike is so much easier to handle in traffic with pillion. In fact I'm able to plant both feet flat on the ground, it's great, no issues in the twisties either. Thanks again - great video.

Great video, thank you! I have a 2023 GT Pro, blue, just like yours. I really love the bike and have already put nearly 8k miles on it doing some long rides. But, I regret not buying the "low" version and I'm going to do the mod you described here. Thanks again for posting this!

Thank you for the video. I plan to purchase the tiger 900 gt pro this year. Currently I ride a BMW R1200 RT LC, wonderful machine, but it is starting to become too heavy (in weight) when maneuvering and shunting (packed 300 kg +). Seems like a good idea to have the tiger lowered right away, I'm 5 foot 8 tall and your video has been a great help in getting an idea of how much I need to lower the machine! Thank you.

Hi Thomas, great to hear that you enjoyed my video and found it useful 👍 I brought my fork tubes up by 10mm which works for me and balances the bike suspension perfectly. I don’t suppose setting it to,20mm will make much difference, at the end of the day it’s how you like it and how it performs. Did your also change the side stand for one from the low ride height GT?

Hi, just recently found your channel as I bought the GT Pro last year, I’m 5’7” 29” leg & after a few weeks ownership I had a low impact drop due to a camber in the road ( it only kissed a dry stone wall) & the top crash bars saved the tank. However I wasn’t aware of this lowering kit till now but what I did was bought the low seat which I have to say is more comfortable than the original 1. But having changed it felt a bit miffed that I didn’t have the heated seat benefit, until I found a KZfaq channel called 3ft Deep & their video is called Cold Best Comfort where they install a heated seat pad & plug connector which utilises the bikes built in system. I have to say it works flawlessly, I might also consider doing what you have done. Thanks for sharing…Les
@tigerness5555
@tigerness5555 Жыл бұрын
Hi Les Thanks for this information, I looked it up on KZfaq. Really interesting, I didn’t know that this was possible. That said, the price for the lowering links and the low side stand was still less than the cost of a low seat and that’s before buying the heated pad. Great to hear that you’re now happy with your bike. Cheers Tiger Ness

Thanks for the info you have already given me. When you say that I don’t need to remove the front wheel to move the front forks up by 10mm, does that mean that I loosed off the securing bolts on both forks simultaneously? Thanks again
@tigerness5555
@tigerness5555 Жыл бұрын
Hi Thomas With the front wheel still fitted and with the bike on the side or centre stand, if you were too slacken all 8 pinch bolts on the top and bottom yokes then there is a chance that the weight of the bike would allow the front of the bike to drop right down. This is NOT what you would want to happen. By slackening only the 4 pinch bolts on the left side first, then the right and side which has not been slackened, will fully support the weight of the bike and the front won’t drop. This will then allow you to twist the left leg upwards by 10mm and then tighten the 4 pinch bolts to 25Nm. You would then do the same on the other leg. Note: this is a major suspension component and if you’re unsure in any way as to how to complete this job you would be advised not to attempt it. Your safety is paramount. Hope this helps. TN 👍

Great video and info as I have been looking at gt low being a bit vertically challenged at 5’4” inside leg of 29” l thought my bike options were limited to cruisers or my be a street twin style? But Always liked the look of the adventure bikes and the tigers but thought they were out of my reach but after a bit of research found that the Gt low was Maybe a possibility? Anyway long story short by chance I sat on a Gt pro with the seat on the lowest position and found I could get half a foot down so next thing was a test ride and my mind was made up as am now in the market for a Gt pro but will be fitting the lowering links which seems a strait forward job so thanks again and keep up the good work 👍

Hi Alun, an update to my previous message. I was cleaning the bike this afternoon and noticed that there has indeed been some contact marks on the hugger. There is a mark on the flat section close to the rear suspension unit, it looks like the black plastic section containing the battery has made contact. I visited my Triumph dealers today and asked them if they would lower my bike as you have using Rust Racing lowering links but they said that they had issues with doing so, something about having to be lowered forks by 16mm?, is it just Triumph being awkward. Obviously you did the work yourself, did you have to remove the front wheel. Any advice will be great fully received.
@tigerness5555
@tigerness5555 Жыл бұрын
Hi Thomas It’s an easy job to do yourself as long as you’re fairly competent at working on the bike. You DO NOT have to remove the front wheel. Do one fork leg at a time. Slacken the top and bottom pinch bolts of the side you’re working on. You can then turn the fork leg back and forward and move it upwards by 10mm. It’s a bit tight but that’s how I did mine. Make sure the Marzocchi label is still in the correct place. Tighten the pinch bolts to 25mm. Repeat on the other side. If you can’t move the fork leg the full 10mm, then tighten the bolts and move the other side. Then return to the first leg and it should then move to the full 10mm. Hope this helps 👍

I’m no expert and don’t claim to be one. There are certain parts on a bike that I will not make videos about, these are the areas where safety is of the uppermost importance. I have no desire to show someone how to modify suspension which may result, in that person not doing the job properly and potentially causing a serious accident. There are many people with varying levels of skill who watch KZfaq videos where someone makes something look simple and then attempt to do the job themselves. In this video, I’ve just tried to show what can be done. It’s up to the individual to determine if they have relevant competence or not. I mentioned in the video that the links were purchased from Lust Racing, with a simple search on Google you will find the relevant item. Hope you enjoyed the video and found it useful 👍
