Fixing aircraft is huge techy fun and a delightful career. I was comm/nav on Phantoms and Broncos, crossed to engines on F-16s to escape Moody AFB, then was merged into F-16 crew chief and enjoyed it all. Kudos to our Canadian hosts at Cold Lake as they're a hospitable lot and party hard!

@@Exiwas Just make a decision and give her, don't lean on other people or you will have regrets like i do. I needed to enlist in my young adulthood for the confidence and getting out on my own, i did not due to pressure of my parents and my life has been shitty since.

PanterSeb Hello, what was it like? Is it lots of shift work or weekend work? Can you find a related job once coming out of the forces?

Yes shift work and sometimes lots of weekend. Just remember that you are not paid by the hour...

My wife was a CH-3 mechanic who degloved a finger and learned the hard way ring safety posters (LOVE the classic RAF gore shots as they got the point across!) are no joke. I never wore rings and never will.
