As a dude who always roots against Novak, I have to hand it to him. What an absolute legend. I admire him tremendously despite not being a fan. More than anything, and come at me if you want, but I admire his refusal to get the jab, accepting that it would cost him some trophies. It very well could have cost him his chance at history-- although it turns out it didn't-- and his mentality was "so be it". He is not just a great athlete, but also a man with the strongest will imaginable.

In 2023, Djokovic may not have won the Calendar Slam but he has still achieved something very unique. Out of the 4 Grand Slams, Wimbledon is the only slam that grants a non-silver trophy to the champion. Wimbledon trophy is golden, whereas AO, RG and USO - these three all award silver trophies to the winner. And apparently, since Rod Laver, Djokovic is the only player to have won all the silver-trophy-awarding Grand Slam titles in the year. I call it “The Silver Slam”
