Nice puffers! I've had my Figure 8 Puffer Chappie for almost a year now. He lived with Spock the Mudskipper for a few months before moving him into his own brackish tank.

I have eight of these guys that I got the end of spring. They've almost tripled in size and are all spoiled. They are now eating most anything I put in their tank, but for a while they only took live black worms. Being wild caught they had to be wormed twice. They are in a 30 breeder with 15 Silver Tip Tetras, and a variety of Pleco types, lots of Pleco fry. They never bother anything and are truly community fish. When they get a large Mysis Shrimp and rip it apart they show how savage they could be. We have a lot of the same fish. Good taste! lol

Puffers and Angels, oh my what a combo! I just purchased pea puffers and I was thinking the other day, that this hobby is not for the squeamish, as I was harvesting snails out of my 55 gallon. LOL I'd love to have the larger amazons, really nice fish! Gotta to get you that art for my stickers. So behind on everything with the holidays.

What a great looking tank. I love those Angels. Not allowed to have puffers in Australia as usual. I just sat through a 5 minute add before you came on so I do hope you get paid extra for it.🤑

Absolutely love Amazon Puffers. They’re such characters. Give it time they will eat just about anything. Just keep offering it. Amazon Puffers usually will still need their teeth trimming. We’ve had ours over a year and have had to trim their teeth once. They eat loads of snails too.

Jadren Aquatics Yes, we have! It wasn’t difficult but was nerve wracking! They were fine, I think we were more stressed about it than they were. We are hoping to get more of them in the future.

I think it was Aquarium Co-op that posted a video of puffers being fed Hikari Vibra Bites. They seemed to take these as fast as frozen blood worms. Could be an alternative to frozen blood worms. Always love your videos. Keep them up.

I’ve heard despite feeding mainly snails, teeth trimming as needed is necessary. Yearly, or when they start to have trouble eating.

Really important you think about the beaks. My puffer refused to eat cuttlefish or any wheel fish and would only eat the blood worms. It’s beak grew and ended up goin through its bottom jaw and it died. It was a beautiful fish and really intelligent and it broke my heart when it died

I have heard that bloodworms should not be given often. Or the fish won't eat other foods. Let them get hungry.. Sorry for your loss.. I feed some of my fishes flakes before feeding meats... So that I don't totally pollute the tank feeding my puffers. (The mosquitofish will otherwise eat all the mussel meat.)

I am considering setting up a 40 breeder puffer exclusive tank. I have been debating between a few species that would be happy in a tank like that, I am attracted to the idea of putting like 6 into a tank, and can change sizes based on my choices. I currently started raising Malaysian Trumpet Snails(MTS). My plan was to pick a species(likely this one) and establish a tank LOADED with the MTS and once established to drop them in. My concern is, will they eat them? I can do feedings as well, but I wanted to try and establish an environment of a few types of snails, maybe even some shrimp, feed them, and basically let the puffer have his choice on what he wants to eat in there. Is that something that would work or do you think that idea will fail?.

I have a figure 8 puffer and still strong today , he’s 4 years old now I’m thinking to add one more but I’m scared he might eat it like the original partner he had before lol any advice?

I have a 55 with puffers and mosquitofish. The livebearers are so active that they scare the puffers when they eat. Having more than one 'target" helps. The puffers jump in for food, when they are hungry. Otherwise, they let the Mosquito fish have the run of the tank. Not what I expected. A Large tank with lots of hiding places and obstacles allows each puffer to have its own secure spot. Truthfully, a 75 gallon is ideal for many adult figure eights. Unlike the 55, it is 18 inches from front to back. Lots of depth for turning around and avoiding each other. Lots of caves and tunnels... And breaking the line of sight... are two important tips. They don't fixate on each other when not always seeing each other.. The Amazons are different. They live in moving water... in packs.

I had a bad case of ich brake out and it killed them all. But one was starting to look like he needed help with his teeth. I will not buy them again because of that

@@JadrenAquatics Aww man.. that sucks that they all died. I was hoping that by feeding snails, you didn't have to trim their teeth. Mine love blood worms so that's all I feed them but their teeth needed to be trim. It was scary at first but I got the hang of it. I love these puffers!
