Dani Florida and South Dakota are the only two states in the USA that have never had a recorded quake but tell you what the islands around the entire Caribbean certainly make up for it. Glad to see you weren't affected by this one but I remember Haiti a few years back things will never be the same there as it hit major population centers as well AND its a very poor country on top of that. I knew a coupla Haitians here that had relatives in the area but lost contact with them. Just a sad scenario to hear of people going through something like that. As far as spinners are concerned its still a bit early and the Saharan dust has been especially nasty this year and worse the brilliant programmer's of these models have NO way of predicting that dust ahead of the season. This is one reason why I take long range predictions with a serious grain of salt because that dust is NOT in the mix. The same thing that causes those nasty T storms coming off of the Sahara/Congo demarcation hasta deal with the Sahara dust a bit further North which keeps any storms South of 5 degrees from creeping North at this time of year. But unfortunately this time of year does NOT extend into times beginning about a month from now. Therefore I'm always concerned about the entire Atlantic, Caribbean, gulf basins during the 8.15-10.1 window of nasties as I call it. Its been dry of late here in Palm Beach County due to that dust. Normally we get T storms after about 15:00 or so but lately they've been suppressed. Have a good day!
