This is my update on the Tropicana Las Vegas demolition taken on Friday, June 14, 2024. I start the video on the north east side of the site on the top floor of the OYO hotel. You can see that both towers have this weeks three floors gutted out. Three floors a week seems to be what they are currently gutting. There aren't many floors left. I'm thinking they should have them all finished in 3 to 4 weeks. The pool area is slowly getting cleaned out. You can still see there is water in the main pool.
The excavator that fell into the septic hole a couple of weeks ago is still broken down. You can now see that they have taken some pieces apart on it. Probably had to wait on parts.
A Grove GMK 6300 L-1 all terrain crane was being driven on site to set up at the front tower. This is what they use to lift the Bobcats and other equipment up to the other floors for next weeks demolition.
I make my way to the front tower to check out the crane. You can see them set it up on it's stabilizer platforms. After watching them for a while, it appeared like they were leaving. I finally asked on of the construction workers if they were going to use the crane today. He said no. They were setting it up for tomorrow. I would have loved to get them lifting the equipment into place but it wasn't happening today.
