Thanks for the video. I just purchased one, should arrive by Friday and will definitely need to be restored. I have all the Capacitors or resistors needed. Hopefully the EYE tube will be OK?? Should be a fun project, and your video will definitely speed up the process!! I restored a SOLOR 1600 that looks very similar to this unit... But variety is the spice of life so having another unit will be nice to add to the collection. I wonder if SOLOR and Cornell-Dubilier are somehow connected being very similar in style??? Robert, San Diego ,, If you search SOLOR 1600 Capacitor Checker you can see what it looks like, the inside is very similar to the BF-50

Robert, glad you found the video helpful. The tubes are all still available from various sources so if your eye tube needs to be replaced it can be found. I have seen the other manufacture's model and wondered who might have designed it and who copied?? They are very similar. Have fun on your restoration!

Would you have a list of the capacitors that you used and where to get them. Thanks

My sources are usually www.mouser.com , www.digikey.com , and www.tubesandmore.com Make sure to use equal or higher voltage rating and you can round off the old capacitor values to the new value, for example 0.5 uF would now be 0.47 uF. The old paper wax caps are replaced by poly-style (not electrolytic). -Erik
