So that RR magma is a beauty. I’ve been growing it for a couple years. Advertised as milli but I’m say it’s a spath

Glad to see the tank's progress and everything looking relatively well. Once things stabilize, you might consider moving a few of your higher light loving sps into a higher PAR and flow area. I have noticed my Walt Disney frag for example have definitely gotten a brighter canary yellow with higher PAR (above 400). With the lighting u have, u can definitely partition the light how u like to accommodate what the corals need. btw thanks to u, I also got a frag of Marvin the martian. love how shaggy it is. can't wait for it to explode. im with you, milli and tenius are those I then to gravitate towards.

Thanks! Yeah. Plan is to start increasing par and moving frags around to get corals in their ideal position and give some nice color contrast to the tank

What up azul.. nice tank 👌. Love the new additions to your tank . I've always been inspired by you and Abe from coral euphoria. Watching Both your videos got me interested in sps. So I recently picked up a pc rainbow because I liked yours so much and a miaggi tort. I also picked up a small peice of Walt Disney. It's actually doing very well surprisingly. Lol . I say that because I keep it at around 200 par. And I know it could use more light definitely. So as you know I have the same red sea reefer 250 you used to have. So I built my tank as close to yours as possible. So far it's doing well. I'm glad your new tank is doing well too. Felizidadez a ti mi amigo. Can't wait to see how your new tank progresses over time.

Really like the lighting on your system and setup alot to be said for utilising the full spectrum lighting and not blasting the tank out with too much blue to the point you can't even see the true colours of the fish and corals 👌

@@TheBioReef okay, i got a lot of Red cyanos as i run AB+. Now i run it cool white at 90%, the blues at 100%,green at 12%, Red at 0% and warm white at 20%. The cyanos are away, but the coloration is not very well. The corals looking more brown.

Very nice tank. Do you still have the trigger fish that I saw in the beginning of the video?

I had this issue happen to me. Corals loosing color and becoming opaque. Nutrients are good. Nothing drastically changed. You think too high of par can do it? I raised it up slowly my kessils 62% to 76%. Back at 62% my par mapping showed the sps getting 170-240 par. Think I have the same issue?
@TheBioReef2 жыл бұрын
Hard to tel Tommy as sps can brown out for multiple reasons. How old is the tank and any recent changes in water chemistry? Have you had a good period (6 month or so) of the corals looking nice in your tank, or are we talking about frags that look good going in and then browning out in your system ?
@tommycristaldi90372 жыл бұрын
@@TheBioReef yes 10 months old. Chemistry was good. Consistent especially now having a DOS finally. I put the corals in and they were bright and happy for a while. Month or two then went south. Greens and reds in the coral turned opaque. I also was upping the light 1% per week. But also my ICP test said low iodine and maganese( which I corrected) but I have high tin and aluminum. Thinking from my aluminum diy aquarium screen

How do you keep your sand so pristine looking?
@TheBioReef Жыл бұрын
not sure, in my redsear reefer 250, snails, starfish and sand dwelling wrasses were always disturbing the sand, which i think helps with detritus removal.

@TheBioReef2 жыл бұрын
@@stellarlivingstoned also, the gray only really stand out early on, eventually corals encrust and all you see is sps jutting from the rock work. Makes removing colonies for fragging super easy as well!

Nice stuff, u almost completely filled already! About ur par, makes you wonder why u bought another xr15, probably didn’t need it? And what about the new G6’s, now u have to spend more money to upgrade ur G5’s! Wish they would just reduce their prices!! I would be dosing a bunch of bacteria, to help with algae and color, u filled up really fast and I believe it takes like a year to get the bacteria really going, dump the water changes till ur levels go up, save some money!!
