I've been fishing that spot for 40 yrs

As we were waiting on friends to fish today I clicked on this video because we live in upstate SC and I thought it might give me a bait idea for the day. The trout were biting literally anything I threw at them for 3 weeks, and the last few days it's slowed down with the warmer weather. I started today with rooster tails and Powerbait honey worms which have been my go to's, but I was only getting a few nibbles. I dug deep in the pack and found my trusty pink salmon Firebait and slapped some on the hook. No bobber, just a small hook and a split shot 10 in. above it. BAM! 2nd cast and I had a beautiful brook on the line. I have learned a lot from y'all and I have landed some amazing trout this Winter and Spring on your dough baits. Thank you! My back yard rivers are the Chauga and the Chattooga. I am an ex-whitewater guide with 25 years spent floating the Upstate. The place is now overfished alot since I live in upstate pickens

This place has become the most overfished spot in the upstate. Saw two guys keep a ridiculously amount of trout over the limit. I noticed that there were only female trout left last year and they all had eggs. I felt bad so I didn’t go to that spot for months so they can give birth to more trout. I went back last week and saw that the water was much higher and NO fish. Smh
