Yeh I’d say this comment is accurate as of last season before he went and worked on clinical finishing. The season he is the out and out striker we have all dreamed of! And yeh for me, rashford hasn’t done enough for club to be going. Southgate though… anything’s possible with him at the helm 🥴

@@marcus8030 why would he have to play with his back to goal? That's so 1990s. It's not why he's in the Villa team, and it shouldn't be why he's in the England team. He regularly brings others into the game with his hold up play, but it involves drifting with the ball to the edge of the box. He always finds a gap to get the cross in or the pass in (see the Brazil game for example). What else do you want? A 6' 6" target man bustling his man and laying it off for his support act? It doesn't play out like that anymore

Deeney hasn't been watching enough Villa this season. That's clear. But he's right that both should be on the plane. Rashford doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the team. If we're saying Stirling shouldn't go, then there's no way Rashford should

@@ItsAv3rageGamer I dislike Toney intensely as a person, and I think he's disrespected Brentford to an astonishing level. But since he's come back, I feel that he's tried to drag them along by the scruff of the neck, because they're an incredibly poor side this season (injuries accepted, not that you hear about it in the media). I think you need variety in your squad at international level. That's why I used to advocate for Crouch and Heskey over the years over players line Defoe etc. Because they gave you something that nobody else could. I think it's wise to have a straight 9 but it's also useful to have someone who can bring others into the game as well as offering a good goal threat. But as with the likes of Grealish, gareth will find a way of playing a player outside of their role and skillset. Not on the level of roy hodgson (the worst England manager I can remember), but still, self destructive

His form is better, he's more experienced internationally, he's got European football experience, knock out football experience, he's well integrated into the group, scored bags of goals, can assist, strong, quick runs in behind, can finish etc etc. The only area Toney is better is penalties. I'd take both, Gareth won't. But I don't see on what planet anyone can argue Toney is better than Watkins

Maybe we should just have Henderson, Gallagher and rice playing in that midfield then, they can pass it side to side and never give it away. The whole point of mainoo was to split the lines with the pass, plus that one they mention was genuinely the only time he did give it away (and won it back). Numerous times yesterday mainoo worked the angles to drill a pass in to foden just on the edge of the box. Isnt this exactly what we want.

Troys comments re watkins show why he will never be a good coach. Watkins is a very good forward who is intelligent enough to play a variety of roles up front. Southgate will make a major mistake in not picking him for the euros. I agree toney is a good player as well and again should be picked for the euros.But Watkins is a more adaptable type of player who can play multiple roles.

They have almost identical career statistics except most of Toney's are league one and include penalties. Watkins has the most goals and assists in the prem.
