This video shows you how to install new, quality TRQ ball joints on your 1993-1997 Ford Ranger. Car and truck suspensions combine a number of moving parts for safe and stable handling. The ball joint is the crucial moving component that ties those parts together. The ball-in-socket joint can wear out and loosen over time. Or, the rubber protective boot can tear, allowing contaminants to seize the joint. Bad ball joints are a common failure point on vehicle inspections because they lead to unsafe driving conditions. Fortunately, they are relatively easy to replace with the right know-how.

Great guide with thorough commentary, thanks for breaking it down. A word of caution for the DIY people, the upper ball joint requires an adapter for the universal press and you cannot press it back in without it so go ahead and get it when you rent the tools. its a half size cup to allow clearance. No harm, this video is about lowers, like the title says, but hopefully the advice saves time and headache.

10:41 Yeah, that's helpful. Just skip the part where you put the whole assembly together, insuring we don't know which end the ball joint goes in, nor which pieces of the ball joint press to use. 🤦‍♂️

Thanks for the video. Didn't need all of it, just wanted to verify house to removed the spindle. Camera work was great without all the shaking Blair witch effects like so many others.

A good rule of thumb is to always screw the nuts back onto to the tiered ends and ball joints, just a little bit, before you start striking the knuckle with a hammer. That way if you miss a strike, you won't gom up the threads on the ball joint.

Do you need to install the snap ring that goes on the bottom of the lower ball joint? It has a groove and it comes with the snap ring, atleast my ball joints ive purchased

My ball joints when fully seated, gusranteed seated fully, they dont reach the bottom allowing to put onnthe snap ring, like they are the wrong size being too short

I especially liked how there was no discussion whatsoever about the camber sleeve on the upper balljoint - or its purpose. Not even remotely important....
