A Baltimore middle school teacher used the N-word in her classroom during a tirade about the importance of education. One student’s mother says the delivery was all wrong, but the message was right. What do you think?

@@spongenoob4409 I don't, You don't say that to people anyway. *That's like saying A girl has the chance to make friends, so she finds a boy and they become friends. But because she is talking to a boy, you say that she will consequently be a teen mother* . (the message in a different fashion) That's not right for anyone to say, And the teacher was wrong for saying that. She has no reason for that to come out of her mouth. *You could have said, "if you don't get an education, you will become ignorant of the world around you"* . That would be a more acceptable and appropriate answer than the racist derogatory language she uttered out. as I said in a comment nobody probably saw, nobody must have taught her the unfortunate and depressing history of that word. As an African American myself, I get angry hearing little kids and young adults, (or people in general) use that word freely and without regret.

The Bible says in John 3:16-36 that whoever believes in the Lord Jesus Christ shall not perish but have everlasting life, the Bible also says in Romans 10:9 that those who declare with their mouth that Jesus Christ is their God, Lord, and Savior they shall be saved. Revelation 1:8 says that Jesus is the alpha and the omega. Luke and revelation is the ending times, and Jesus is returning back. So are you going to submit your life to him or no? Narrow is the path that leads to the gates of heaven, but only few people find it. The gates that is the path to destruction is where many people find it! Jesus loves you SO MUCH! im a teacher myself, no matter what happens whether you are frustrated with your students or not you need to be the better person at all times. Being a teacher takes a lot of patience, but if your patience runs out, you should know how to manage your anger. You are an educator, you are a role model!

She probably needed the impact to get though to these apathetic kids. She probably said it the "right way" for a long time and nothing worked. You have no idea how hard that job would be for a teacher that cares.

with all due respect to the mother, the teacher didn't get fired because her "message was wrong" - she got fired for being inappropriate and derogatory in a learning environment; a place which is meant to feel like a safe space for children to learn and grow. Her level of aggression, combined with the slur, spoke volumes for her lack of professionalism. It's just a bit yikes innit Edit: Since everyone keeps bringing this up, I wanted to say something. I’m not saying schools are a safe space. I spent most of my time in high school being terrified someone would try to kill me because I was a gay kid in a conservative school. What I’m saying is they SHOULD be safe spaces. A place free of judgement, where you can try your best to hone your own development, and discover who you want to be in life. That’s what all schools should ASPIRE to be. And yes, in reality, no school is ever going to be perfect. Even the most well off schools have severe issues with bullying amongst their students - and unfortunately, because of how socially complex we are as human beings, there probably always will be issues. But as a teacher, it is an obligation to try and make school as bearable as possible, while still remaining professional. Teachers alone can not solve all the problems there are with the education system, but they can certainly contribute.
