Truck Frame Mount Repair, Overweight Truck Camper?

It's time to show my truck a little love. I've put so many hard miles on the Silverado that I can't be upset when things break down. I'll let you know how that cheap Jansite rear view camera works. If it lasts for a few years, I'll be happy. Same with the tires, I'll let you know how they are working out. I was impressed with Hellwig customer service, it was awesome to see a company stand behind their products. I am getting an alignment done on Thursday, then the camper will get loaded up just in time for Labor Day weekend. I don't know where we are going next weekend, but I'll be happy to be out there. I wish I had more of the Germany vacation to share with you. But not having a lot of footage gives me a reason to go back and see it all again.

As a guy who builds commercial trucks , I would recommend you put those big washers on the rest of the bed mounts . Maybe with ears on them so you can tac weld them a bit to the factory bed mounts . Flex is a good thing to a point and then things crack and break, kinda like flexing a metal coat hanger back and forth until it breaks where you want it to.

Hallo Herr Kenny! Willkommen zu Hause! Klingt und sieht so aus, als hättest du eine tolle Zeit in Deutschland gehabt! (Welcome Home) You can sure tell Kyle is your brother! Amazing resemblance! What a beautiful City. Love the old German villages. We are a old German community here. Very large German district here called "Calf Town" Use to be the residents all had a cow and a calf in their backyard. I'm sure glad you got your truck issue taken care of. That looks like a heck of a good repair job Kenny! Those M/T's look awesome. You're right about Hellwig, they have always had a great reputation for customer service. Glad to have you back Kenny!

Thank you Richard! I'm gonna be starting the kayak fund now...or traction boards if winter comes first. Those tires were spendy. So I really appreciate all your support. Germany was awesome. I loved how reserved the people were. Everyone was chill and kept to themselves. Mandi said she could tell my family came from Germany. Lol

The kayak would be awesome. Nice little fishing platform. The tires are like everything else....spend more...get more. Mandi is a astute observer. Very true about the Germans. I'm the same way also. My Ancestors left the Lake Constance Germany/Switzerland area in 1740 to come here. I had one group settle in the New Ulm MN area. Did you check out any RV's while you were there? I've heard the European RV's are really well designed although I think the Australian RV's would be a better fit for your style of camping. Glad to have you back Kenny! @@KennyOfAllTrades

@richardkoch8752 i did check them out from a distance. They look better built, more of a fiberglass shell. I also liked how they appeared to be narrower and more manageable on the roads. I kept an eye out for truck campers. I only saw one. That was also the only full-size truck I saw.

It was so awesome! I'm surprised at how reserved the people were. We were walking through busy town squares, and all you would hear the soft whispering of people talking amongst themselves. The pride of ownership is on another level. The homes were beautiful. People were friendly. It was very nice.

Lol, thanks! We do look a lot alike, but I'm the older brother by 3 years. Germany was incredible. The pride of ownership is obvious over there. The homes were beautiful with their perfectly manicured lawns and gardens.

I was thinking about getting a long sleeve on. I have burns all over the arms and holes in the shirt. I wonder if I don't have nerve damage in my hands, because I usually don't feel it until it's to late.

I'm so happy you were able to get your truck in working order and yes, I definitely would love reviews on those mickeys and the Jansite in the future if it isn't to much trouble. First of all, those Mickey's are sweet. Glad to see you're able to resolve your issue, and be able to take care of some needed maintenance. My sister was stationed in Germany, she loved the people and said it was a wonderful country to visit. Oh and, was that Mandy in the backseat behind you when you were riding in your brother's vehicle? Whoever that was, she's sure is pretty.
