I am ex-forces class 2 driver from the 80's and have not driven a HGV for over 20 years, I am taking my class 1 at the end of the month and finding these types of videos extremely helpful in getting my mind back in the game. I must say that this video is by far the best one I have seen, you manage to explain everything very clearly. Thank you for taking the time to make these as they really do help.

Good video Haley. A note on the Shunt Button, when used the trailer has no brakes at all (not just ABS) which can be risky with a loaded trailer. All in all you have covered lots of tips that lots of us have had to learn the hard way. This video will be of great value to new starts and some experienced drivers too. Keep up the good work.

Excellent tips Hayley wish I knew some of these when I first started! Never knew about dropping the suspension to get the fifth wheel handle out I always backed it up more against the pin! Another tip if you still can't get the legs up with everything you have said drop the mid lift this will also raise the unit to help. Great video can't wait till part 2 👍

Failed my c+e in this day... (2nd time now but 3rd time lucky as they say) Some brilliant tips there and just wished you put ouf sooner 😄 as I had this on my tesf with the legs sticking on my 3a and I just couldn't get them up until I used my brute force.. the guy testing me said nothing (even just to help me) I just got frustrated and then he failed me for forgetting to mention to check my fog lights.. remembered all the others (he was a jobs worth!) Been watching quite a bit of your channel and it's very interesting.. Thank you 🙂

I learned it kind of from experience from the days of helping my grandfather about too much weight on the headboard, and that being the reason why the trailer legs weren't easy to do, that was back in the days before air ride suspension. but did mention it to another youtube driver about lifting the trailer as the headboard had too much wieght. even though didn't help her on the day due to the delay of upload, think she will always remember that tip now. as in work smarter not harder I think I said. 🙂
