You are wrong you have to make over $3 a mile right now Just to stay floating Brokers and dispatch has this industry messed up.

Absolutely disagree. What you have to make per mile depends on your cost per mile, which is the very reason I made this video. Also, the numbers I used are projected for the use of a scenario.

I also disagree. Anything over $1.75 is profitable for most if you are smart. You need to average $2 to stay afloat with payments. I work as a broker and believe me we are not robbing carriers with 40% margins. The shippers are not dumb and would not be paying us $4,000 if the lane rate is $2000 that is just not going to happen.

The $1.28 example used in this video is of course not including additional overhead costs that don't necessarily directly reflect mileage costs, but could absolutely bring your CPM upwards towards $1.75 if you added them all. So yes, anything over $1.75 (if you are mindful) would be considered your profit margin for most carriers, but I'm not sure what Willie is talking about needing to make over $3 to stay afloat, that's insane considering .40 cents per mile alone above your CPM could leave you with a solid profit margin. So basically Willie is saying truckers need to make $3.40 (at-least) to make profits. That just means your Trucking Company has poor organization in finances. Anyways, thanks for the comment Matt, if you don't mind me asking, what Brokerage do you work for?

@@covenantdispatchllc7644 Although one thing I do wonder. As a dispatching company, how do you prevent carriers from signing up and taking your valuable freight directly from brokers and not continuing your service.
