The freight is so bad, I'm back to company... And luckily back with my old company that I thought shut down while I was on vacation. Downsized and sold most everything just to get drivers paid that were let go and ensuring everything was paid. Lord have mercy... We're screwed (all of us) if rates don't improve or diesel and insurance rates don't lower (or both).

Unfortunately trucking is done. Too many illegals in trucking that run dirt cheap. Yesterday in California there was a trucker going in n out of the car pool lane not even signaling. That’s the trucker that you’re gonna compete with, yeah good luck with that.

Trucking is what real estate used to be. When times are good, too many people joined, and then the supply outstripped strip the demand. It’s gonna take a couple years for those who cannot make it financially to leave the industry to leave the few that can then rates will go back up. Too many people spent money freely when the money was good. Now that the money is not good those that spent the money do not have it as a cash cushion.

Interest rates were so low for many years that people were able to qualify for cheaper payments. Now, when they need to replace equipment, everything is 20-40% higher plus high interest rates, and they might get priced out

The most crazy load I ever did was from Phoenix to LAX (airplane part) $1,000, weighed like 30lbs I remember handing that part to the shipper lol 😅

Thanks for what you do cash! No doubt freight is down, both rates and volume. Nothing on the horizon says it will change anytime soon. Having said that, as a husband and wife o/o we are still doing fine, not what it was last year, or the previous year, but still really good money. The key to our success? Paid off equipment, no major bills, living within our means and investing all profits for the last few years. The major thing!! Contract freight that is paying the same per mile as it was 2 years ago.

My truck is paid off and i still average some good gross $ and as much as i still love trucking , my truck is parked for at least next 3-4 months if not forever, missing time with my kids is not worth it and oh yea trucking is also hard on our health.

I run power only, under my authority. Its definitely challenging Cash, i keep my costs low and 5k a week is my bare minimum. Ive had good weeks recently, did 1700 miles fri-sun but grossed 6k and have the rest of the week booked up.

I'm lucky as a company driver. Averaging around 25 to 28 hundred a week. Home on weekends. Cash that is a hell of a week. Hard earned money. My ass would be dragging a trail.

Yep, speaking of lease purchase and don’t know how they are making it-probably just barely or not making it would be my guess. I turned in my lease purchase truck last October and walked away, or ran, I ran like hell. Monday thru Wednesday paid the truck and fuel and made the company some money. Then Thursday thru Saturday was my money. I usually got Thursday and Friday, Saturday usually got cut out due to no freight. Let’s hit it hard again Monday they would say. Yeah…ok.

I've had my own authority for about 2 weeks now and it's you're right it's been hard I went to Penske and basically I go through tql and CH Robinson and a lot of these Brokers won't work with you unless you have 3 months to a your experience under your belt having your own authority because apparently what I was told is too many foreigners out here in too many scams

When the pandemic hit the trucking industry inflated 50%. So we need those 50% to close doors. Fuel cost to go down when Trump is president. Its the reality guys.

Yeah Ota gonna take a while for things to settle down I was considering going lease op right before the pandemic but the way freight has been even as a company guy its not worth it not now currently looking for somthing local or getting that hazmat and hauling tanker
