Couldn't be happier with my 35x12.50 Toyo AT3s. In below 0° on snow they're fantastic. Mine have 18k miles, rotated every 4k, wearing evenly, about 90% tread.

Seeing you brake into the apex of a turn, at decent speed, with snow on the ground, going downhill, towing load, onto a narrow bridge is what sold me. If you have the confidence to do that, then I have the confidence to buy them!

This father and sons dual is great! Your attention to detail and unbiased reviews is greatly appreciated. As for tires, they are so subjective. Depending how the driver use them; towing and how heavy and often, off-roading, daily commuter, snow, rain, dry/hot climates, etc. For a half ton truck, these Toyo AT3(295/70R18) has been great thus far. Jury still out as I am nearing 5k with mine in all winter conditions, if they are the best(previously used Michelin LTX AT2, Nitto G2 and Ridge Grappler, Yokohama Geo 15 and X-AT, Copper AT3, Les Schwab Open Range, and Falken Wildpeak AT3W), the Toyo AT3 has been nothing short of amazing, especially in stop and go in snow. Appreciate the review and many more to come!

Great review! I’m guessing the safety aspect goes without saying. I have a set of dedicated winter tires/rims on my light duty truck but I see everyone running a good set of all weather AT tires everywhere I go. Looks like this is the way to go now with tire tech being so good and able to offer a tire that almost does everything. Keep pumping out the videos. Very educational and appreciated.

That is nice to hear that you like the AT3. When working on developing the AT3, our goal was to get improved all around performance over the AT2 and I think we did a pretty good job improving the areas that were lacking. I personally like the smooth linear yaw feel and overall balance front to rear, especially in limit conditions. 👍

@@Eastahtata I spent a lot of time evaluating the Toyo AT3 in these winter conditions. We tested in 20 below in West Yellowstone on a perfectly groomed test track. It was clear how well the AT3 did among the competitors and honestly I am a BFG guy since I raced foe them for years. Anyway, Traction was good but what really stood out was how liner and responsive the turn -in and understeer / oversteer reacted. Driving in the ice and snow is no joke, I can tell you I wouldn't put my wife on a set of K02's in the snow but Cooper and Toyo did well. Cheers!

I put a set of the Toyo AT 3 on my 4 Runner and a set of the Wildpeak AT3 on my Tacoma. They are both great tires but IMO the Toyos have a better ride to them and a bit more grip in the snow. I put these AT3s on my Highlander AWD and coming from street tires they are awesome in the mud, went from getting stuck to not even spinning a tire, still slips and slides in the messy mud but I doubt mud tires would stop that. So far I am impressed with them my mpg did drop about 2mpg but for off road traction thats a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

I own a 2021 3500 H/O SRW and Run the AT3's as well. I went to a larger size over stock I am running a 34.5 on an 18 inch rim, that was the largest I was able to run on the stock rim with out rubbing. I have notices my Fuel economy did go down, they are definitely quiet for an all train it s very nice, the do great for me on hard pack rocky roads. They do great in the rain and I have nit been able to run them in the snow yet. I have ran Toyo Tires for over 15 years and love em. Have had these on my truck since 2020. About 8-7/32 tread now. 285x70r17. They’re starting to break traction with very little gas on wet roads. Was going up a steeper grade wet road to a shopping center parking lot and had to stop for a vehicle turning, easing into the pedal knowing they break traction easily now, they still broke loose and starting fish tailing the truck. Temperature was in the 40s that day. Just my experience as the tread is older and less now. Truck is a 1500 crewcab Silverado. Hilly/mountain driving.

I have a 2013 Toyota 4Runner Trail Edition, and in late December replaced the OE model Bridgestone Dueler HT with a set of stock size (P rated) General Grabber ATX. I'm mostly happy with them. They have a nice ride, and they're very quiet. I was expecting a little bit of noise, but was surprised that it's not there, even at 70 mph. The only real drawback is that I've lost about 2 to 2.5 MPG with them. I expected a slight loss because they're more aggressive than the stock tires, but with the weight being pretty similar I did not expect that big of a difference. I also noticed a little bit of a power loss, it now wants to downshift a little bit sooner whatever I hit any type of grade or need to accelerate. That's probably another factor in dropping my mileage so much. I think if I were to do it again I would go with something less aggressive, such as the Continental TerraincmContact AT or Cooper AT34S. I don't really off-road that often, so I probably don't need a tire as aggressive as the ATX. I had just read a lot of good reviews on it, I really liked the look, and they were a good value.

I’ve been running a the new Toyo R/T trail and it is just M/S rated not the 3 pick snow flake rated. But it does very good in snow and ice even in 10° and colder temperatures. And there is a little bit more louder than an all-terrain, but not bad. And win I had the all-terrain tires with the three peak mountain snowflake symbol. I have a lot of Chungking of my tread on my tires. Yes they were not Toyos but the R/T trails really give me the best of both worlds. And the tire is very similar wight to the all-terrains.

Great video guys! I'm deciding between the Toyo AT3's and the Falken Wildpeak AT3W's for my '06.5 Ram 3500 quad cab DRW flatbed with 5.9l Cummins, any thoughts? 235/80R17 on stock steel wheels. Pull trailers, RV, and load the bed often. Sand, mud, and rain are a little more common than snow down here in SWFL too! Thanks y'all, John

Another great video. On my new truck I bought im running the stocks because the tires are almost new. Looking into new tires for the future. I have a 2019 colorado lt. On my last trucks I used Mastercraft courser axt then later the new axt2. Didn't seem like I got great mileage out of them. Probably gonna try something else. I'm a little budget minded on tires.

I bought these tires the second day they were out last year. My long-term opinion is highly favorable. The only thing I haven't experienced is snow. Otherwise, they are amazing, on and off-road. I run 35/12.50/R17.

I have had the same at2 for 10 years I got them because I kept getting flats in the oil field from the sharp rocks and I noticed at2 did not go flat and I have never had any problems in any weather. These are supposed to be better and I was just trying to decide between this and toyo celsius. I tried all the other tires like Yokohama, cooper's, Michelin, Goodrich and a few other and they all suck on ice and snow. So I'm coming back to toyo either these at3 or celcius. I wish you all added traction, speed and take off reviews though.

One thing to consider, winter gas (you said you put these tires on in November) has always resulted in me using 1L/100km more and I have run 3 sets of ko2’s year round on 4runner, Tacoma and tundra. Let us know if you see the return of your 1L/100km this spring/summer. That Cummins, IMO wouldn’t care about such a small change such as these tires.

Yes. Winter fuel does reduce fuel economy. Assuming tire size is the same, another thing to consider is tire weight.

@@TruckKing I had the same thought, winter diesel gives me less mpgs. I replaced another name brand AT on my pickup, a different brand 3/4 ton diesel, and I picked up about a half mpg improvement, from 19.5 to 20.1 on flat cruise control highway running, but I did not count on that, probably pure luck. Maybe, the squarish and staggered tread shoulder clears your fenders a bit compared to how round shoulder highway tread often has a narrower contact patch, for mud slinging? Also, Toyo claims the AT3 to be a good stone ejector and I have found that to generally be true. On a side note, these have been some of the smoothest rolling and easiest to balance AT tires I have ever had, that's probably pure luck too, but I always use ATs, never highways or MTs. I got mine on late last summer, so probably not much longer than yours, haven't got to my second five thousand mile rotation so far. I drive a fair amount of gravel and muddy roads, but don't do recreational off roading, for me there is no noticable tread chunking. I probably have similar winter conditions as you, and these have been my highest confidence year round tires in snow and ice. Thanks for the review.

Had great success with Cooper Discoverer AT3’s on my Tacoma (ten ply load range E version). 90,000 km and still 6 mm of depth left. Slippery on wet grass though and easy to spin on wet pavement. And ice... noooo. Guess they are hard as rock.

What did you do (if anything) about the difference in the OEM tire pressure / TPMS settings for the Ram (60 psi front / 80 psi rear) and the Toyo max of 65 psi? I’ve seen info about running these at around 50 psi for best wear. Did you get your TPMS sensors reset and if so, what pressures are you running in the tires?

A year later.....how they doing? Looking at putting these on my old 03 Ford F150 that I use as a daily and also for ice fishing, hauling my boat, etc. Looking at getting a set of LT's for it, I like the 10ply tires, they last longer, and seem to hold up to daily driving a lot better than P--rated tires.

I've tried a few AT tires on my half ton... BFGs,Duratracs,Toyo Extremes to name a few. I dont buy any now unless they have the snowflake rating as I live in Alberta and keep them on year round. The Duratracs are my current favorite....little noisy on highway but awesome traction for my hunting n fishing needs. I do alot of gravel too and they are holding up better than the BFGs did in that regard.
