I will vote for Pierre for the same reason (well there are many, but) I know of a family whose son was stabbed to death by an offender who had been released on bail when he should not have been at large. In fact, we can help him by canvassing various neighborhoods, when election campaign begins. I hope I will be fully recovered from my knee surgery, and if I am, I will help Pierre's campaign.

I have similar reasons for wanting him elected. It's not a safe country anymore. And the police are as likely to defend a violent offender and arrest the victim as the other way around. Zero accountability at every level of government. I would hate for more people to have to endure this first hand. (see “Canadian Lawyer magazine) have all debunked it. I simply never happened. The second or third time Poilievre made this claim he was asked where he had gotten his information and he claimed that it was straight from a report published by the B.C. Union of Mayors. Now, even if you set aside the fact that Mayors are political and have every reason to “stretch the truth” when it’s in their best interest, a simple perusal of that report - which IS available online if you bother to actually look for it - will tell you that Poilievre seems to be “exaggerating” just a teensy bit. The Mayor’s report cited that in Vancouver the top 40 “Super Chronic Offenders” - their words, not mine - had been convicted an average of 54 times each. That’s 54, NOT 150! And what were those convictions likely to be for? Well, it turns out that the RCMP did a little digging into that too! On average, 42 were traffic offences, 11 were bylaw violations (most often noise complaints) - so far nothing that would carry a prison sentence and therefore would not involve the bail system at all - and only 1 on average were criminal offences of which shoplifting was the most common. Violent offences accounted for only 0.3 offences per person. Not exactly the “crime wave” Poilievre would have you believe, is it? Want some relevant actual facts? Vancouver’s violent crime rate saw the second biggest DROP in the entire country during 2020 - 2022! Poilievre has repeatedly blamed his non-existent crime wave on “woke liberal” mayors and yet the two cities with the greatest INCREASE in violent crime in 2020 - 2022: Toronto and Ottawa - BOTH cities had extremely CONSERVATVE mayors during that period! Kicking it up to the provincial level, the 3 provinces with the highest violent crime rate per capita: Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba……that’s right, the very heart of conservatism in Canada! No. It’s been cashless bail system for a long time. All you had to do was show that you or your Surety could produce the amount noted on the bail release, but the courts never collected when the criminal was caught breaching their conditions. Nowadays they don’t even bother imposing money amounts on bail releases, just very basic conditions. No one is getting kickbacks. The police are frustrated, and the crown attorneys have pretty much given up fight against these Liberal appointed judges who are only too glad to follow these reforms that Trudeau has put in place for the Justice System.
