Some things you missed going over was how some of his moves act with airborne opponents : B3,2 without the axe can bounce an airborne opponent the timing is tight if you just bounce them from the powerstrike move. Also f2 with the axe can bounce an airborne opponent which lets you land the 1+3 follow up to side switch if needed which is helpful if going for that brutality. Great video though!

I really hope in this game they have a way for us to put the combos on the screen like they did in MK 11

I'm sure everyone is aware of this by now, but f2 can give you a full combo with Kung Lao and Motaro's teleport assists. It's incredibly lenient, too.

Man, so much to remember. I really hope they implement being able to pin your moves to the screen. Ive got horrible short-term memory.

I struggled with doing combos from his low and thought that only a kameo allows that. Turns out that i just suck and can't do the knee quick enough. This would've saved me many games.

Do you think you could make video about tier list where are all characters ranked by how hard are them to master? This is first MK game I'm going to be playing (i played 11 story becouse it was on psplus) and I'm not sure where to start I'm obviously I'm playing cool looking characters first but still also it could be more original becouse ranking characters power-based is probably going to be made by everybody

Shao is so fun to play

You can combo into overhead from the upswing for a meterless side switch. In the corner with damage buff you can do 4x upswings into overhead grab side switch for like 45% meterless or something. But good luck ever landing it.

Ah yes, General Shao is one of the most fun characters to play and super satisfying

Best thing about Back 3 and Forward 2 are that they are both 20 frames, which means it's basically unreactable and you can't fuzzy block them.

He need faster approach move and a easier way to go into No Axe. His armor move need a wider hit box or at least give him back his classic shoulder attacks.

Shao Kahn made me move from Baraka to him as main Character and he remains my main in MK1. Hope he becomes a regular because he's my favorite character.

Just played against my first General Shao in KL and although I spanked him (🦎🦎🦎) originally we then went to friendlies and he dealt with me. I thought I’m gonna learn him next, I go online and this video is up 🎉🎉😂

The deathquake you can combo off of if you meter burn it I’ve done it a lot

tbh, i've had problems with doing good combos on most characters, but for some reason Shao i can handle. Once you learn the inputs and what goes into what (how to poke and do safe pressure), the timing on combos is not as hard to nail as other characters. At least that's my experience. I was afraid that he was harder to learn than others, but tbh, he's one of the best to get good damage from. On top of that, not a lot of people play Shao so oponents don't know about his overhead/low game. Imo he's not S+ and broken like johnny, kenshi or ashra, but he's very high on the tier list. I would also say he's a great starter if Lui Kang, Baraka or Lao isn't your type of tea. A future king of MK1 tier list if NRS buff his down 1 and some of his recovery frames

Frost is a very good Kameo for shao Kahn since he doesn’t have any lows

With the fast overhead low, i think once you block the overhead the game auto blocks the low aswell, to help the scrubs that arent worthy to deal with shao

at 2:18 he says you can't get a combo from amplified DB4 but if you amplify DB3 you can do the basic slam and grab combo

Im confused anytime i do the no axe grab in neutral it just wiffs. Is there something im missing with this move or am i just dumb?

Very complete. 👍 Improvement suggestion for your next guides : suggest a top 3 Kameos you would combine the character with, so beginners like me know which team to lab. Here for Shao I'm thinking of Sonya for her amazing projectile (can be maintained for pressure) as he lacks some + the air combo. Motaro could be also a good choice not to be zoned out. What do you think?

Wouldn't frost or sub be better? It gets you same combo with dmg increase setup giving 50 percent 1 bar combos. Or maybe im missing somethin?🤔
