Nice Review on the adjustable dumbbells. I’m glad to hear that you got blood pressure back to normal by losing weight as this will benefit your health long term. As for the adjustable dumbbells I own a pair of the Powerblock Urethane 90 that I owned for 11 years. For some reason I prefer the hex dumbbells over the adjustable type but space and finance is a reason why I own the adjustable set. Keep up the good work and look forward to your next review.

This is the 1st full video review of the Trulaps on KZfaq. Very in depth review by U as always I took from your review the following: Pros- 1. They look Outstanding 2. Solid steel plates 3. Very competitively priced. 4. Nice shape and feel Cons- 1. They do make a little noise 2. Plastic trays 3. Weird Weight increments The only con I see that might be a game changer is the weird weight increments. Very Nice Review U did, and if I was in the market for adjustable dumbbells I would have to seriously consider these and they probably would be my pick. The Pepins are Great but that cage on the side of the version that I would be interested in is a big game changer. The cage is the same reason why I would never consider buying Powerblocks. I just need my dumbbells to look and feel like a real dumbbell. Thnkx, Great Job!!!!!

I’m not sold on the longevity of these. Especially those flimsy looking trays. Hopefully future versions will come up with something that will last a lifetime. For now I will stick to my power blocks. Great review, thanks

Thanks so much. If you’re not going to drop them, they are a good choice. If you need to drop the dumbbells, like at the end of a heavy chest press set, the Ironmasters would be my pick.

There he is! Great review, HGHR! Out of all the adjustable dumbbells of this style, these are the most intriguing (aside from the Pepin fast series). I'm in the market for a 2nd pair of heavier DBs, and I have it narrowed down to the IMs and Pepin HDs. Seeing the IMs next to these Trulaps made me realize how compact the IMs are.

I had a nuobell, sold it. I have an ironmaster and I have the ones in this video but I bought them in another country and under a different name. These dumbbells are great, I've had them for a few months now

Those look absolutely awesome! I've been using my Bowflex adjustables for about 15-20 yrs now and love them, plus they only take up about 2' x 2' floor space, for small home gyms adjustables are a no brainer, I say buy them!

@@betterhomesnc2437 Did you drop them? I've been very careful with mine because they don't look like they could take much abuse. I did have a situation where I thought the seatbelt was to secure the dumbbells to the base so I left it unsnapped, I was wrong, turned there it's there to keep the base attached to the stand, picked up the full weight and the base came with it just long enough to clear the base and land on my foot

I'm pretty sure the weight increments are 1.5 kilograms. American delivered items have weird pounds weight equivalent labels because USA is old fashioned about lbs.

I have had my powerblocks for over 20 yrs. Love them. Now that I am apparently done fighting cancer (where I did mostly aerobic type exercises; was on minor hormone deprivation therapy also) , I am looking forward to lifting once again. Also looking forward to MORE EFFICIENT & more effective adjustable dumbbells

I definitely agree with that. For exercises like flat and incline press, there is virtually no noise; a little more noise for exercises like bicep curls.

He reached out to me and offered to send it to me. An extremely nice guy and I hope it does well. I turned him down for 2 reasons. 1) he said he was sending it to a few other reviewers. I really don’t like when companies send out their product to a bunch of review channels (Trulap did that). I think it just makes the reviews less interesting to watch. 2) it’s not a product I would use in my own training. I have been pretty adamant about only reviewing equipment I would use, which is why I’ve turned down Tech Products and Flywheels just to name a few. However, I really appreciate your comment Reynaldo.

Has anyone seen Clench Fitness's (CF) version of these? They're exactly the same except for branding, a one (instead of three) year warranty, and Clench's consistent 3.3 lb increments instead of Trulap's varying ones. Trulap offers 52 lb and 92 lb versions while CF offers 72 lb and 92 lb versions. I'm interested in CF's Goldilocks 72 lb set. I asked Trulap if they made the DB's for CF or vice versa, or if they both source them from the same manufacturer, but they said they're not familiar with CF.

What is the half plate that is first and nylon for and at what increments do the dumbbells pick it up with the other metal plates . How does the plate attach and release to the dumbbell

Outside if the weak cradle, these look legit. Pretty much the same as Nuobell but with more weight increments and more total weight.

Why do you have to drop dumbbells? I go to failure all the time on DB benches and inclines and either sit up with them back on my quads or if training with someone get some assistance. Great review by the way !!!

Thank you. Mainly for dumbbell flat press. I usually take my sets to failure and I just find it a lot easier on my shoulders to drop them rather than kick myself back to a seated or standing position.

@@HomeGymHacksandReviews I emailed the company about dropping these a couple weeks ago. They said you could drop them from knee height onto a padded floor and they should be ok but don't really recommend dropping at all. They didn't mention anything about the warranty.

I've been searching and considering the quick adjustable dumbbells. However, they all have issues such as durability, incremental increases in smaller weights, etc. So far, I'm still leaning towards Iron Masters for durability and safety.

Sorry, I don’t have the Nuobells. I also show what the Rogue Change Plates look like on the Snodes in my review for those and I have an old video where I review the change plates. Those videos might provide enough information for you to figure out if they’ll work.

There are features I like with both. The Trulaps look the best and have the most adjustments (for this style ADB), but for flat press, I need to have the option to drop the DBs on the floor at the end of a heavy set taken close to failure and I can’t do that with the Trulaps.

My dad is presently borrowing the Trulaps. He uses them daily for everything from curls, to presses, to pullovers and he loves them. It will be a while before I get them back.

@@imranchaudhry9699 I recently did a review for the Snodes and I have an older review for the Ironmasters. I think the Trulaps are the best looking dumbbell with more settings than most. The Snodes biggest selling point is they are drop-proof.

How reliable is the weight selection mechanism and are they prone to rust?

It feels durable to me. These have been out for a few months now and I haven’t heard of anyone having issues. Also, I don’t think they are likely to rust under normal circumstance and when cared for. It will take months and even years to determine the long-term durability of this relatively new product. The 3 year warranty gives me some peace of mind.

It’s still a work in progress but here are a few things: -I’ve lost 30 pounds (I was carrying a decent amount of body fat a few months ago in my attempt to get to 200 pounds). -Added in some cardio -Fewer meals: 3-4 instead of 5 -Fewer calories per meal -Reduced total carbohydrate content by approx. 1/2 -My last meal is much earlier in the evening, which means I usually go about 12 hours before eating breakfast.

These are the best for me because they go up to 40kg that is more than enough. The problem is that they want 200 dollars for shipping in EU plus the customs fee. They should have a retailer in Europe as well. You americans have so many options

@@HomeGymHacksandReviews to be honest the ironmaster aren't really the quick adjustable like nuobell or Bowflex, they are just normal adjustable which I have dumbbells like these . I bought the Bowflex 1090 which are heavy enough to complement my barbell compounds

Okay so here's my thing with any adjustable dumbell set. Its an awesome idea on paper. But who really needs this? The whole idea is that it is both space saving and quick to adjust. Okay cool. But if you are really that limited on space to actually bemefit from something like this, that means you may not have a dedicated place to keep these and have ready to use. You'll probably still need to store them away somewhere when youre done which means lugging over 100lbs of equipment everytime you finish a workout. For those people who do actually have the space to leave this in a permanent location and get the most benefit out of, you probably have some sort of dedicated room or garage or space that you can use. And at that point why not just build up a fixed dumbell set? A dumbell rack with a good variety of wrights doesnt have a much bigger footprint than these.

I think it's more so that you can put them next to the wall and still save so much more space then a full set of traditional dumbbells. Someone isn't going to put these dumbbells in the closet and lug them out every time. Your argument saying that you might as well just get a full set anyway is void because even if you put these in the same space your using a tenth of the space to store this adjustable dumbbell then a full set.

@user-dn7vy6qg1m first, what i mean by "dedicated space" is an extra spare room or garage set up for a home gym. If you have that, then you probably arent hurting for space so badly that saving a couple square feet of space is going to make or break your home gym. And also my point still stands that the footprint these take up isnt much less than a vertical dumbell rack. If you are just starting out, then you probably dont need 50lb dumbells anyway. So spend less than a couple hundred on sets of 10-25lb dumbells and a rack and you'll probably be good for a while. Then upgrade as needed as you progress. Sure there is still a niche of people that these would be perfect for. I get that. But my point is that MOST people dont need these and really arent worth the $300-700 that these things cost. I really just dont see any really good argument for these things unless you have that kinda money and really just have to have every cool workout gadget out there.

@@antman674 but what I am saying is that even with putting it in your dedicated workout space still saves quit a lot more space for more equipment rather than having most of a wall dedicated to dumbbells Even if you get a vertical stand it still takes up much more space then the adjustables.

Correct. For the handle-dial-style adjustable dumbbell, they are the heaviest.

That is good. But not heavy enough for presses. I have the Nuobells which I know are inferior to these. But like you I also have the ironmasters that go to 135lb with the heavy handle kit. With that combo I am fully covered. Great review. Thanks to you i literally saved thousands. I have limited space. My gym is 1/3 of my garage. It's 24x8 feet. I have a powertec WBLS 20 black. A ironmaster super bench pro V2 with leg attachment. A chin dip assist machine that sits on the other side of my garage. A Titan compact leg sled, and 600 lb of Vulcan rubber covered Olympic plates. And a landmine with attachment. Not what you have but good enough to do 90 percent of what I could do at the gym. You are doing a service to the whole garage gym community. Thank you brother. Rattles while Ironmaster is completely quiet. Definitely not as durable. And no, I'm no affiliate to Ironmaster and can talk shit about them too. They take forever to change weights and the width of the handle is really wide. I can talk shit about all adjustable dumbbells :)
