Who among us is moral? With absolute respect, I disagree with the Doctor on the issue of this year’s candidates. The far more important factor is the policy positions of Pres. Trump and Biden, not their personal lives. The question I would ask Dr. Mohler is: who would be moral enough to be the President of the USA?

Poor choice for an interview Mr. Anderson. Albert Mohler is analytically shallow, logically hollow, and at heart, a political coward. I think he would prefer to huddle in the pew (or his faculty lounge), and preach pleasant platitudes rather than boldly take a stand in the political world, and stick his neck out to try to re-establish our constitutional Republic. I think we can see it in this interview.

These men speak with authority, to use the expression Christ uses. Their words soothe, nourish, calm and bless and as you listen to them you realise that this ‘speaking with authority’ is beyond investigation or scientific analysis, it just is what it is. I think, though, there is one easy to remember characteristic of the words of a grown up - they are level headed and full of common sense. Listen out for them, give ear to them, draw life from them. They are the antidote to the poison that is everywhere now and they will bring you to life, and keep you in life. If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs, to paraphrase Rudyard Kipling, you’ll be one of the grown ups.

Because Hamas as the elected representatives of Palestinians (who are NOT an ethnic group/country) chose to attack a neighboring country - for ideological reasons. Please remember Hamas controls Gaza. They have a large boarder with Egypt (also a Muslim country) - but very few people are blaming Egypt for closing their boarder to Gaza. If armed forces insert themselves into citizens homes, mosques, hospitals, schools, play grounds - and then shoots rockets from those places ... are the victims of such rockets bound to not return fire, or try to stop them just because they are in citizen locations? The cowardice of Hamas (and those who support such "tactics") is deplorable. If you have a leadership that hate non-Muslims, hate Jews, hate non-believers - then you get political groups like Hamas and regions like Gaza.

@@craigmatchett6953 I doubt your claim that the Palestinians do not constitute a country or a people. And I also doubt your claim that the Palestinians tout court chose to attack their neighbour. I hope you agree agree that these claims are at least arguable; this comment section is not really the place where such arguments can be run of course, except very briefly. I believe that Egypt is quite a poor country and that it would be a real burden for it to accept the Palestinians, some of whom are not Muslim as we all know. (Presumably, as well as the minority of Christians, there are probably some atheists etc. and of course there are a small number of Palestinians who are married to Jews but I don't know if they consider themselves to also have Palestinian identity). I agree that Israel is in a bind/Catch 22 situation if returning fire from rockets sent from places very close to civilians. But I do not really think that this is a defensive war by Israel. The attacks on 7 October were terrible and outrageous. But they were attacks that did not and do not threaten the Israeli state or its essential institutions. Militarily speaking, Palestine is a flea compared to an Israeli bull. The deaths of something like 30,000 Palestinian civilians is as outrageous as the October 7 attacks, but actually, if numbers mean anything (and they do), it is about 20 times as outrageous as the violence of 7 October. This is a long and deep-seated conflict and there is no sign it will end anytime soon. And even the basis for a peace cannot be laid unless and until the leadership of each side can look with some sympathy and understand on the suffering of the other.

Fascinating interview. I will pray for America and the American people. Americans are our neighbour to the south and I wish them all the best. Pace John, it was not the West alone that liberated Jews from the Nazi concentration camps. It was the West and the Soviet Union together that did this. Soviet forces liberated the first concentration camp during the war, Treblinka. The great Soviet novelist Vassily Grossman was a war correspondent then and his account in Russian of what he found out from speaking to survivors of the camp was the first journalistic account of the camps and their liberation to appear in any language. One can read an English translation of what he wrote in the book, "A Writer at War: A Soviet Journalist with the Red Army, 1941-1945."

Two *major* issues I find with the concept of "only informed citizens should have the right to vote" is that; 1. at some point you have to centralize the decision-making power as to who get's to define "informed citizens", and 2. it provides the ability for the very governing body, who is meant to be held accountable by their voting constituents, to determine which particular constituents get to keep them accountable. Both seem like toxic combinations which fall more closely in line with Sowell's Unconstrained Vision than the Constrained Vision.

People choose that life, and many times before they enter that life, especially so in politics, they themselves have criticized whoever was there. The majority of humans want no part of the public eye and the people who choose to become politicians in this country are representatives of the their private citizen voters.

Like the "climate emergency/catastrophe/change" which focuses on the most recent weather data, you are only considering the most recent history, even going back to WWII and the Holocaust doesn't give enough historical perspective on the Israeli problem. It IS crucial from a moral point of view to respond to a people who commit terrible atrocities.

When Trump was asked "What's your favourite passage in the Bible?" he thought for a moment and then said "Its all good. Its all good". He couldn't give a proper answer because he clearly has never read the book. Or probably any book. Though he can read the autocue.

He missed the passage that Paul said the man's body (Trump) belongs to his wife (Melania, not Stormy Daniels) The wife's body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife . Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. 1 Corinthans 7

@@True_Heretic a lot of the constituents for the party that John Anderson represented would be rural Lutherans. The Lutheran Church in Australia seems to be on the verge of a split over the issue of woman pastors.

@@noelhausler2911 Not a big Anderson fan. Most of his guests are right wingers and his party represented the country rube section of the Australian electorate who probably don't know too much, a bit like their Republican cousins. It doesn't help that the church is full of Evangelicals, who aren't exactly in the front of the queue for enlightened thinking, in my opinion. so of course they aren't going to be the biggest fans of equality in the modern day. Much to their ill fame. Hausler? A German name? I know Lutherism started in Germany, for good reasons. And that many early Lutherans in Australia were German.
