I have a feeling it's because this process is so frightening and unbearable to cope with that he's literally just shutting down as a coping mechanism. He is forced to be there. He *hates* not being the one in control. Falling asleep is his only act of rebellion, his only means of control and the only escape that he has access to. As far as the stink goes, he's notorious for incontinence on the set of his show, whatever it was.

I have to agree I think that's it. There was an interview with the court sketch artist that remarked that when the witness was on the stand or someone says something he doesn't like, he will face them and close his eyes. It could easily be mistaken for sleeping but it also could be a means to communicate anger and dislike without saying words. It's also something children do when they are told to stop talking.

I've seen in people, where I used to work, when uppers & downers are mixed, this can happen. For example, pain meds, then uppers to stay awake, but when sitting down, will nod off, then up & on the go as soon as they stand up again.

I am wondering about that too....to falsely try and show that he's not bothered about the trial. However, I think it could also be that he's just bored, doesn't understand the intellectual discussion, he's got a VERY short attention span anyway when other people speak, plus he's not allowed to say anything! I worked in a field where the clients were dealing with some serious mental health issues. These individuals had been in trouble with the law, gangs, drug dealers and addicts. All were required to participate in therapy several times a week. Many had a family history of abuse, addiction and abandonment. During these therapy sessions we often found clients falling asleep to avoid the emotional and painful incidents being revealed . It’s a way of avoiding and protecting oneself from their painful reality.

As a nurse working with these meds, a patients taking mildly sedated when not stimulated they will dose off, but when engaged can be quite active. It is also behavior seen in dementia as described

I agree with you not a nurse however. As a nearly seventy five year old , very active and physically fit woman. I find that if I am bored and not being active or reading or sewing.Or something I will fall asleep. This is normal since I figured out why it happens. It does not mean i'm on some form of drugs. I was a user for years so I think he is going thru withdrawals. His body is confused since he normally has drugs in his body. First when you wake up the effects of the drugs from the day before are worn off so the first thing your brain tells you is go use. Since he can't you become agitated and mad at anyone. Also you become cold and start farting. Normally addicts eat junk food and don't 💩💩 so now your body wants to get rid of that 💩 and the smells are like the things described in the video. With that your body becomes weak and your body language will show it. I know people might think that what I just said is nothing but an addict will know what I'm saying.
