My grandparents live in the states and if this bill had gone through they'd be paying at least 4 times what they did for healthcare. Before I present my two points (I’ll try to keep it brief given the medium), I’ll say that I do not make fun of Trump supporters. Not in the above comment - or in general. Period. I digress; on to the topic at hand. The Child-Rhetoric and Paul Ryan shaming I cannot help but feel amazed, with regards to this political alleyway- method of excluding / blaming Paul Ryan. Admittedly, while I don’t agree that the current reform-bill is adequate (see below), Paul Ryan has made year-long and continued efforts to create the foundation and form of this change. Only to be publicly berated and identified as a fraud - a “false friend” to Donnie; who apparently is not supposed to understand the reforms that he himself is inacting. To me, an odd child rhetoric - this is the President of the United States of America we’re talking about. Examples: (“He trusted you Paul Ryan, and you let him down The Healthcare reform: “Wanting insurance” relies on the idea that people are not motivated (or demotivated) by the costs of insurance - or healthcare for that matter. Of course the price matters - e.g. if premiums rise from 1500 $ a year, to 15.000 $ a year, there is a marked fall in the people actually able to afford this. (this is an estimated example, not hypothetical). Meaning: It’s not because they don’t want it - it’s because they CANNOT afford it. (see independent assessments by CBO). Essentially, the current form of the healthcare-plan has three primary outcomes; 1): Markedly higher premiums; 2): Fewer people insured; and highly important: 3): Primarily the sick, the elderly and the poor not covered. To me, simply put, that does not constitute proper healthcare in any way. Thank you for your time.
