The test is designed to pick up defects like hemispatial neglect via parietal lobe damage with the clock test, and working memory in the prefrontal cortex and hippocampus with the word recall. It’s a good test. Don’t try to discredit something that’s been standard in psychological testing with proven results. Your anecdote is a sample size of 1 whereas there are studies where n=>100. Not to mention they’re recently increased the score required to be deemed cognitively competent. Don’t make light of the MoCA

Sometimes the brain can compensate for functional losses elsewhere in the brain. Medicine isn’t always 100% these days even with all the technology we have, the body and the brain especially is just that complex.
