So just for my own clarification answer this question: Is the problem with "the wall" how much it costs, or, is it the concept of having secure borders? I'm just curious about the opinion of others.

Too me, “The Wall!” was never a selling point. I actually blew it off and assumed it would be a 6’ high fence. Seriously, when the numbers were thrown around about cost, a real wall like was pictured in promoting this “Wall” would cost tens, if not hundreds of billions. Say it’s a combo 15’ 3’ thick concrete and steel wall with fencing in and around mountains and rivers; for 2100 miles, 1250 of which is an actual wall. That’s why I never took it seriously. 1200+ miles of a huge thick wall with surveillance cameras and crossing points with guards along with the patrols...there is no way the people, Congress, Republicans or Democrats would say “So....450 billion for the infrastructure and another 500 billion to finish it? Ok, let’s move on to the next issue”. Seriously, he isn’t getting a Great Wall, it is going to be a useless long waste of money fence. These people trek for days, risking their lives, and does anyone really think they are going to see a 6’ fence and say “Oh goodness, no one was shot, no border police, we made it; *STOP! * Just, just, just turn back. There’s a fence that is 3 inches taller than Enrique. Our trip to freedom ends here...” It’s just silly.
