In this video I give you 3 tips on how to improve your phrasing on the trumpet. I use Summon the Hero's as an example of good phrasing.

Three tips for better phrasing include
1. what is the style of the piece/ section of the piece?
2. Think about the long phrase, and the mini phrases are within that phrase.

Very informative and practical advice. My teachers would also have us incorporate the historical or cultural context of the music into the phrasing. You have probably seen it as well...musicians playing music with the wrong interpretation and phrasing. Wonderful playing as always Phill. Always look forward to your videos.
