What kind of trumpet is this. Whats for 4th valve?
@JeanWJosephАй бұрын
This is great. I'm preparing for my senior recital and looking for help with the Piccolo trumpet. I think your channel is just what I needed! I noticed that you had a slide on your third valve - which brand is that. I currently have a Schiller four valve piccolo and I'm strongly considering upgrading. Any advice?

Thanks! I bought one of these from Aldi the other day although I haven’t really tried to learn to play it properly yet. I’m a flute/sax player and thought this might be fun. You’ve inspired me to give it another go - although I’m a bit concerned about my flute embouchure after a few comments I’ve read on this and other videos. Also Australian!

It might have been the best mute for trumpet, but now the Divitt mute I find does a very good job.
@PhillONeillTrumpet2 ай бұрын
I havent tried the divitt mute. I should get 1 and give it a go.
@Allegro-wp8xf2 ай бұрын
@@PhillONeillTrumpet I've tried a few practice mutes (including an older Silent Brass mute), but they have all had a high resistance and have had an adverse affect on the embouchure. The Divitt mute I find is more free blowing just about in tune over the full range. Also, price is reasonable! You can order one straight from Euan Divitt who is based in Toronto.

Would a practice mute help me develop more endurance because of the added back pressure?
@PhillONeillTrumpet2 ай бұрын
Thats a good thought but I haven't found that to be the case. Using a practice mute is more likely to create overblowing issues than make improvenemtns to endurance. I use a practice mute frequently and often need to remind myself to keep from blowing loudly for long periods while using it.

Why is it different to the army rouse on Anzac day
@PhillONeillTrumpet2 ай бұрын
Good question. Bugle calls are based on tradiition. The Army and Navy have different traditions which is how they have different buugle calls. Sometimes they share traditions which is why The Last Post is the same for both services.

when I practice I get lip swelling. I am not using too much pressure. I am not over practicing. My embouchure is good. I don't have an allergy. why else might my lip be swelling? it has always done this. but it prevents me from playing longer/endurance issues. In fact I believe my chops to be pretty well developed, and strong. Is it possible I just have too much flesh in my lips and I am not suited to trumpet?
@PhillONeillTrumpet2 ай бұрын
This is common. I often get swelling in the lips when I dont rest enough during sessions. During practice try singing each phrase before you play it. This gives ur chops a small rest but also means u know what u want to sound like before u play.
