Really like the sound on the single, DB. I often hear the advice "Rest as much as you play" and that playing on tired chops is counterproductive to progress. How do you balance an appropriate amount of rest with an appropriate amount of facetime?

Thanks for checking out the single and I am glad that you like it. Appreciate the support. With endurance practice resting as much as you play is a good thing I'm down with that. I also think that you have to build your chops to make it through a 90-minute set of hard playing where there's not a lot of rest. How do you deal with something like that? What I showed you in the video. There's a club in Boston called Wally's and we used to play 4 hours straight without a break. That really helped to build my endurance and we were playing hard. Playing and resting of course is a great thing because you don't want to burn yourself out but you definitely have to push the envelope in terms of endurance because the demands of today's musician and what people write is so extensive. dB sends Love and Respect to you

The problem I think I’ve had though is that sometimes within a very short period of time my chops are done but not the muscles around the mouthpiece but the centre where it sits.

Sounds like you're using too much pressure. Relax and let the air flow and tongue do the work.
