First class trio playing behind and with these gents - Cedar Walton, Idris Muhammad, Doug Weiss! Oh, what a gathering of trumpeters - would be pleased to hear any single one of them - and what fun to hear ‘‘em all having fun, (and cutting), together! RIP, dear Roy and Lew. Two beautiful men who helped so many trumpeters while playing unforgettable music throughout their lives.

Great recording of some exceptional players live. Everyone's sound different to the next. I love the swingin lines Roy plays (RIP), Randy's hip harmonic lines, Jon taking Satchmo style licks up the octave, Lew's lead chops, Terence so melodic and inventive, then Terrell's sound. Why isn't there more views, likes and comments?

Hey A J.We like it. That is important.I love more kinds of music and i was wandering the same. But it is what it is.But man...Roy Hargrove is really a big lost of jazz Trump music. I think the man could be one of the best (accionally he was)one of the best trumpet players ever.

@@mhammers100 Agreed. Lew has left us too. So sad, but wonderful that their legacy lives on with these recordings. Peace.

Hargrove has such great continuity in his solos. So sorry he left us so young. Aspiring trumpeters --and players for that matter- should listen to thisd over repeatedly and cop some of these licks to see how great players apprach the whole concept of improvising.

Jon faddish is so underestimate. He has control of three octaves. A lot of trumpet players cannot be in the same stage with him.

Seems strange they have the best modern trumpet players of the time and a hip rhythm section and they call honeysuckle rose ?
