2 жыл бұрынThis is the second and final part of Trumpeters 1/32 Bf109 G2 video build.
I must apologise for the missing parts but hopefully that didn't spoil your enjoyment.
On the whole, this is a very nice kit to assemble and paint. Accuracy? Well, its probably not for the purists but good enough for myself.
I used a Montex Mask set for the main markings and kit decals for the rest. Gunze Mr Color and Tamiya LP paint was used with some help from MRP, all lacquer paint.
Enamel washes and some oil was used for weathering as well as various pigments.

Lovely job, Tim...such a precise and beautifully executed Bf 109. You make modelling such a pleasure to watch, not only for the visual content but your commentary...so easy going and no faffing on! I've heard about the pink basing for yellow but hadn't seen it so thanks for sharing...it definitely is a more muted yellow than the RLM 4 coloured paints from different manufacturers...I like it. See you on the next one.

Absolutely stunning build Tim!! When you got half way painting the darker yellow over the pink on the chin I had a sudden craving for fruit salad chew sweets haha

Was it common for the crosses to be white and grey, or that's a unique feature on this particular aircraft?

This camouflage of RLM 70/71 was applied “in the field” so I’d guess they just left the crosses as they were on the original camouflage Martim

Lovely build, Tim. I’m just getting acquainted with the builds on your channel, so perhaps you have mentioned this in previous videos. What pressure do you use on the airbrush? Your technique seems to put down a very gentle/fine coat from a close distance so I am assuming you use a fairly low pressure setting.

Hi Mark.. yeah fairly low pressure, somewhere between 10-20 psi depending on what paint I’m using. I use lacquers, Gunze, Tamiya and MRP. The pressure does vary due to temperature and humidity but somewhere around that. Thanks for stopping by mate.

In your oppinion,what's is the best scale for build a Focke-Wulf FW-190 Dora o para recordar a Willy Messerchmitt with it's aerplanes.I'm a Enginering who want to remember this worh two examples of one a Dora and by the way a Bf-109 Gustav

Hi Jesus, Eduards little 1/72 Dora’s are great but small, their 1/48 kits a just as nice but seem more fiddly. Hasegawa’s are good too. Tamiya’s new G6 isn’t as great as you would think in my opinion, a bit too complicated. Again Eduard does a good one

How are getting on with those AK panel line washes? I brought all of them when the first came out a few years ago and played with them. Didn't touch a few of them for 6 months or so and when I did go to use them they had turned to like a thick mess. Tried to thin them with enamel thinner but no joy. Ended up binning them.

I have heard they last long. Mine seemed thick from new. I did thin with odourless thinners and seemed ok. I can’t really tell the difference between these and oils. Some swear by them but it’s above me Ivan…

@@TimsScaleModelling I use the Tamiya panel accent colours now, they are slowly increasing the amount of colours, and I just mix some if I haven't got the tone I want. for oils im using oil brushers and I am happy with them so far.

Oil brushers are quite nice… but the ones I have, the bloody brushes are knackered! Good dirty colours tho

That's one big leap for modelling kind there Tim. Love the scheme you've chosen, the only thing that struck me was the depth of the final yellow - now this could be my screen mind - but it looks just a tad too much of a dark yellow? Maybe? Otherwise really enjoyed this, in fact stopped watching Matt Damon in the Martian! 😀

Potentially too dark yes Dave, it’s was a spur of the moment thing and to use up an old bottle of MRP. How did you like the Martian in the end, good init? I shouldn’t think he’d mind btw.

And what is the best scale 1:32 or 1:45,there are very detailled Cockpit and Engine. My Granpa fly on a Messerchmitt Bf-109 from the Blaue Division,...Legion Azul Spanish who was encuadrated on the Luftwaffe and were destinated to the Russian Front

In Spain isn't has a Champion Scale...You can foun scale that 1:35,1:72,1:45 for example. If you recomending for me a Mamuth Scale for build a Model of an aircraf like Messerchmitt Bf-109 Gustav-14/U4 like Hartmann'Pilot durante the Second W.War

(1) conspicuous seam along entire top fuselage (2) strange coloration ... if this much effort were put into a model, why not take care of the basics first .. sorry to be obtuse; I've enjoyed watching many builds on your channel, but not this one ...

109 fuselage is sectional so they do have a “seam” along both top and bottom. Part of the attraction of WWII German aircraft are the colour schemes, which can be bizarre. Thanks for the comments
