@@chabland ... yes, it can. Warlock has lifetap, that's honestly probably a better hero power than "give a minion +3/+3 for a pure agro deck. Unless the druid's draw is ludicrously lucky, Zoolock is massively favored against Heal Druid, and Zoolock got far better new tools than heal druid did this expansion.

And zoo can't play Zerek with Embalming Ritual. Ganted, Tump didn't put those in the deck, but in a veyr slow control meta it might actually work.

The decks he played blew horribly. In one game he had free play for FIVE turns. The other, a mirror, might as well have conceeded when it instantly lost the board ... because it sucks.

Yeah, I was really confused when he complained about the quest being too slow after he got it on turn 7 with the board. If you wanna see slow, look at the Warlock quest... I've seen it fail to activate by turn 12 and 13. Having "Heal 3 AND give a minion +3/+3 on turn 7 is fucking amazing. And when you add in having the board at the time, there should be no way that you fucking lose. It's ridiculous.

And yeah, that's why that Priest immediately resigned when he activated the quest turn 5. Because the game was over at that point. I'd say that any quest you can get on turn 5 which insta-wins you the game is pretty good. I've seen battlecry Shaman take until turn 7 or 8 to activate.

What's direct removal going to do against a zoo deck? Against any class except druid, you simply spread your buffs. Not even warriors can clear an entire deck of midrange-sized minions.

That Druid deck looked super sweet, but I think 99% of that comes down to the fact that he drew the Grizzly combo TWICE without actually drawing either of the Grizzlys, which seems a little unlikely in your average game.

The grizzlies are the only beast in his deck so the odds are 50/50 that either he'll draw the grizzly or the combo. So, on average, in the long run he'll play one 3/24 per game. And considering all the drawing in the deck, its likely he'll find the beast revive combo as well. So it is pretty likely.

@@mehakwahla5633 Yeah, the problem is he has a 4 Mana card that frequently does nothing, unless he draws neither Grizzly over the course of the game. It's a good combo, but he's unlikely to get it to happen more than once a game and, sometimes, it doesn't happen at all. Seems like a pretty risky combo to warp the deck around if you ask me.

The heal druid also played quite badly. Also in a deck with +6 "Choose One" cards, I think there needs to be a place for the quest.

Yeah, now that I think about it... If you dont rely on the quest(like Quest Druid), you do not even need to churn on the quest every turn. Any control deck will float some mana over the game anyway. You dont care if you complete the quest at, like, turn 10. The opportunity cost(if you run a lot of choose one) is literally just a single card/hand slot early game... Which is not that detrimental to a control deck with a lot of draw.

@@augustgreig9420 Yeah, that's probably it. "I wanna play druid X, not quest druid.". Thing just is, the Druid quest has such a low opportunity cost. One Card, one mana and the prerequisites of having a long game plan, as well as running a few choose one cards. Although, it does have anti-synergy with the heal 5 or deal 2. So that may be a consideration.... Then again, heal druid only cares about healing 5 somewhere anyway. In a sense, the quest is pretty similar to Keeper Stelladris in terms of opportunity cost.

That was such a weird heal druid deck, not playing any lucentbark copy cards except for 1 faceless defeats the entire point of the deck. His early game still sucked but trump let him get to the lategame basically unscathed where normal healdruid wouldve dominated just to then run out of gas instantly and still lose.

It's bad for the same reason Questing Explorer is: a lot of the time it's just a 2 mana 2/3. There are more exciting cards you can put in that deck.

@@Arrakiz666 I'd say it's really hard to argue against questing explorer. With these quests, if you have completed the quest, you no longer need the card draw as badly. Your hero power becomes so good that it takes up part of your turn. The value of using your hero power in those games is worth about as much as a card would be. Running a 2 mana 2/3 battlecry: "draw a card" is fantastic. The fact that it becomes a plain 2/3 after your quest is completed isn't a big enough downside to make the potential upside not worth it. I'd say Questing Explorer belongs in almost every quest deck. You can maybe argue against it in Warlock since they draw a lot of cards to complete their quest anyways, and so their hand is often full and the +1 card drawn isn't significant enough towards completing the quest, but it's great in most quest decks.

You should put the mojomaster in the deck so they can’t get much value from there deck while you are buffing your cheap minions with 3/3 worth of stats I tried it and it worked fairly well

FINALLY a streamer who understands how to build this deck! Which to say: put a lot of 1 and 3-drops in. I for the life of me can't unerstand why people are trying to build this deck as a control/combo deck. I just don't get it. You have enough early game to contend the board without the completed quest, you don't have to complete it on turn 5. I still question the includion of the Pyro plus Circle combo, but OK.

I enjoy the quests and the new expansion, but I kinda feel like the Priest quest reward is a little meh. Like, it's good. It's good value and strategically relevant. It's just.. kinda boring. The other quest rewards are very bombastic, and Priest's just feels tamer to me.

@@poppers7317 Heal Druid always has cheap heal in hand, that's the thing. Whenever possible, you should force the Druid to trade Lucentbark, not the other way around. Otherwise you're needlessly throwing minions at it. Lucent will be up most of the time no matter how you slice it, so gloop sprayer isn't exactly something you can avoid. without silence anyway.

I'm starting to understand why Trump rated Priest so low. It seems he doesn't know how to play it based on this video. At least not yet anyway. He's a pretty good HS player, I'm sure he'll learn eventually.

Tbh, as a zoo clone, quest priest doest cut it. If you do not capitalize the unfair stuff priest can do, you should just~initiate trump voice~ Play real Zoo. So what does priest have that other zoo~ish decks do not? Divine Spirit+Inner Fire, as well as very high quality single target removal. Dont need to go the full OTK~ish route with that, either. You just get your high health minions, pressure throughout the game, get your big draw turns with Northshire and close the game with your burst. I'd personally remove crystallizer, waterbearer, wretched reclaimer and maybe even grand mummy. Waterbearer hits late, is slow and just not impactful. Id rather have another hymn in there. Think it's a card that just does not fit this strategy. Ziliax would perform better than this guy most of the time. Crystallizer does not feel impactful enough, although... With two hymns, it certainly aids quest completion. I am not 100% sure if Id remove this. Similary, unsure about removing grand mummy. It is a really strong card, but it also is kind of wonky, requiring another minion on board. If crystallizer were to go, I am pretty sure that the mummy should go, too. Wretched Reclaimer really just seems to underperform. You'd need more quality deathrattles/reborn to make that guy shine - this is not the deck for him.

The point of putting in Crystalizer is to actually damage yourself to heal, plus carry the tempo forward. If this is Zoo, you can't work off of low tempo cards like Hymn, and if you control the board, then the enemy isn't going to hit your face. It's just completely counterintuitive to give up on your low cost cards for heals and combo when that's not even the deck goal. With that in mind, you're only going to be able to heal your face, and you'll be so far behind in tempo you can't keep anything on the board. Not to mention priest's aoe removal is really poor or symmetric, meaning it's useless ahead, and pointless when you're behind. You might as well put in good cheap tempo cards in a ZOO deck instead of banking on losing to make cards seem useful.

@@xVibra I get that and I don't necessarily disagree. However... by your rationale, you should probably just play Warlock instead of Priest(when it comes to zoo). Your "goal" of the deck is done better by many of the other classes. Tempo Rogue, Zoolock, Shaman, possibly even token druid and midrange hunter. Priest just isnt very good at tempo these days(and rarely has been, tbh). So I suggest focusing in on the biggest strength a board focused priest deck has: High burst with divine/inner. Aside from that, Quest Priest has a good bit of longevity and surprisingly much draw power if played right. In terms of AoE... The new "mini nova" might be decent if supported by pyro and maybe thalnos. Really depends on the meta though. Probably not good enough, tbh. Anyway, back to Crystallizer... I agree that it is not an easy cut - if a cut all. On a good draw, this deck has strong early game and maybe you should just hope for those. I stand by the deck requiring something to make it more threatening - and divine/inner is the only thing that comes to mind. If it is too hard to fit them in or just too inconsistent, then that's that. Except you got something else that elevates this deck.
