I like this method! I’m not ready for the full long method everyone else says to do, so I’ll have to give this a shot. When you apply multiple coats of this Tru Oil, does it change the color of the wood at all (get darker)? Or does it simply make it shinier?

You won’t, just plan a lot of time for it. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the process. Worst case, you’ll need to buy a new stock, which I personally don’t believe you would need to. Go for it!

Well,, how can I remove tru oil from gunstock. Without sanding.

Hi Elric, you could use off the shelf finish remover intended for wood use. This is the fastest way to get rid of the finish assuming you want to strip it to bare wood and start new. Hope that helps!

@@coffeeguns807 strip it to bare wood, does that mean it will remove the darker color? Or it meana it willbecome the the stock wood and I can add tru oil oveer again

It should even remove the staining to some extent. Might not go in the first attempt. This will leave you with the stock in its original wood Color, you can use tru oil directly on it to have a light coloured stock too! If that’s not to your liking, I’d recommend using a wood stain first.
