Please explain how any controller adds more power to a track? I thought that's illegal in racing? Do they have an external power supply?
@thatslotcarguy4 ай бұрын
No no my fault, choice of words lol can handle more power

I'm using the truspeed carrera digital controller and the difference it made is amazing, its so much easier to drive fast now.

Started with the MT2, now using the Apex, huge difference between the range in smoothness and responsiveness. My tip after using the TruSpeed controllers is that the trigger likes to be feathered, massaged gently, if you are applying hard, harsh trigger movements the car will respond in the same way, hard, harsh and nasty. I've always started out with the 'default settings' then went playing and learning 😁

A few guys in our club use the MT1. I'm super happy with this controller, high quality product. MT2 would be fun to try at some point

After about 1 hr with the apex my times were dropping fast

@@thatslotcarguy don't doubt it, the gains even with MT1 were clearly there 👍 found 1-2 tenths easily

I have the analog (brake and sensitivity only) and Carrera digital Truspeed controllers. The Carrera digital one is excellent and all you need for Carrera tracks and is a huge improvement over the stock controllers, and the analog controller is OK, and better than Professor Motor resistor controllers, but I find the brake adjustment not very sensitive, especially in comparison to a Difalco Neo controller. However, I do like it and for the money, I highly recommend it. Unless you want to spend 3x the money on a Difalco fully adjustable controller, the Truspeed is the way to go. I have all the controllers mentioned in this comment so my opinions are based on my actual experiences.

Is that a custom bracket on the control box for the APEX ? for mounting it trackside ? information on that bracket would be great :)

Yes that bracket allows you to mount on track

Thought i wanted to grab a Slot it SCP2 but now tempted to stretch the budget to an MT2. Want it for getting into club racing, and also on my home Mr Trax track. I gather Trav, you would have used both...... any thoughts?
@thatslotcarguy4 ай бұрын
I have the scp2 as well, if I'm honest I would go with the truspeed as the SPC2 has no trigger feel
@user-sp6jk6fn1o4 ай бұрын
@thatslotcarguy figured you may. Thats why i thought i would ask. All the guys at Hallam track use the SCP2, i often like to get something a little different. Now to find one that wont be too $$$ to annoy the wife.

Are you looking at getting a truspeed, if so , try show us ya slotz

@thatslotcarguy yeah i think that is how i want to go. Will look em up.

@@thatslotcarguy and the SCP feels very bulky in the hand. Loads of knobs and other stuff you probably would never use as well, and if you did want to adjust onthe fly, you need to rotate the SCP2 faceup so you can see what buttons and knobs ar ebeing changed. As Travis mentions the trigger on the SCP has no 'feel' as it is a extremely light and sensitive.
