The Athletic reporting Pochettino having doubts over the pairing of Enzo and Moises in the middle. Some significant points here in regards to Chelsea's 220 million pound duo in the midfield on 9 year deals: -Mauricio Pochettino felt the midfield pair of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo lacked the size and power for the Premier League -Mauricio Pochettino privately questioned whether Enzo Fernandez was destructive enough to be a No 6 or creative enough to be a No 8 -Pochettino is said to have "openly questioned" the effectiveness of record midfield signings Fernandez and Caicedo as a pairing. -Poch reportedly had concerns over Fernandez’s ability as a box-to-box player. He was not convinced by his compatriot’s attacking play, as well as his defensive work. -Poch also questioned whether Caicedo had the skills to stay deep in midfield and link up with Chelsea’s backline. It was quite a coincidence that it was only after Enzo was injured and out when Chelsea were on that 5 game win streak. I won't say Enzo is the problem as I think he's a talented footballer but similar to Poch, I to have reservations on the pairing. I think the 2nd point above about how Poch questioned whether Enzo was "destructive enough to be a No 6 or creative enough to be a No 8" is absolutely valid. Enzo is simply not a good runner by any stretch, not a big physical presence either. This hurts him in a 6 role despite his quality on the ball. Going forward, Enzo doesn't possess the pace to run by anybody and create overloads or draw other players out of position to open up players. In short, despite his quality on the ball, the League itself may not suit him. Perhaps the support personnel do not suit him. Maybe it indeed was the coach that couldn't figure out how to utilize his attributes effectively. We will find out which it was next season. Pochettino isn't a fool despite the Spursy portrait he receives from a lot of Chelsea fans. John Terry, arguably the biggest Chelsea fan there is had backed Poch from day one, singing his praises for being a quality manager. Terry knows what he's talking about. I think Poch's concerns are valid and cannot be dismissed out of hand. I personally look forward to seeing what changes and personnel are brought in to get the best out of their 106 million pound player. As for Pochettino himself, I think he did an overall good job given the dynamics he had to work with. Some of the bizarre decisions we witnessed were tough to take but at the end of the day, we do not know what he was instructed to do. Nobody could figure out why he wouldn't play Maatsen at LB or Chilwell at attacking wing. We don't know what he was being told but we do know there is constant interference with coaches by the owners and directors. The release of what the owners are looking for in their next job described "teaching" players (that could mean all sorts of things) along with on the field instructions by the Directors, which literally means interfering with what the coach does. If a new coach accept this, then I suppose they'll get on fine with the owners but it is absolutely bizarre set up that I've never heard of before in world football. Poch would have had to deal with all sorts of interferences, pressures on players being given roles instead of earning them, no transfer support in January (they were broke with PSR/FFP), no depth, undermining his authority with players with every day presence at the training grounds, change rooms etc. Constant meetings with the owners, with multiple directors, each with a different take and input that Poch had to deal with. Given those dynamics, I think Poch has left with an overall enhanced profile than when he joined the club.

Johnny Minerals the same bloke who cried, bitched and complained when we sacked Lampard for a better manager in Tuchel. Yet somehow when it comes to managers people still take you serious even after that lmao. This comment will probably get deleted because im not a yes man.
