I did this with pear seeds I had 17 of them and 10 of them germinated though it took them about a month or two I forgot how long they were exactly being kept moist and they were seeds from store bought pears not bad for my first attempt I think anyway.

Put the seed in a glass of water for 18 to 24hours then put in kitchen paper ..my seeds rooms 2 days all in before I planted.

Put them in a zip lock bag and leave indoor in sunlight. The sunlight will keep the bag humid and the paper towel will stay moist

So.. I am confused. Should I place seeds on moist tissue in ziploc and let it be on window or place the seeds on moist tissue covered?? Last year I was able to germinate seeds on moist paper towel and tape it to window. But some of plants seeds never germinate.. I am so puzzled. Is the method differ by type of plants? Hello Suman, Do check before you water each day. Just make sure the tissue remains moist until the seeds germinate.

if you want to speed up the germination specially for parsley and other difficult seed to germinate put some oxygène peroxide in the water …..the oxygen libération that will develop will speed up the process by days if not weeks .

Hello there, The germination of seeds needs air, water, and optimum temperature. Seeds will not germinate in the refrigerator.

@@yogitas6519 maybe the seeds were too old, if they were they're probably dead. But sometimes you can save those letting them float on a solution of 90% water 10% hydrogen peroxide (oxygenated water) overnight and then putting them on a humid paper tissue.

Hi, I tried this with nasturtium seeds. what I did was.. took a tissue, placed seeds in it.. poured some water and placed it in a air tight container. and I used to check it each day like just if tissue is still moist or not. and today after 7 days when I checked the seeds.. 3 of the 5 seeds were covered with fungus. I don't know why this happened. any insights so I won't repeat the mistake again.

Hi, Nasturtium seeds are best placed directly into a small pot of soil. Just put 2 seeds into a small pot of soil. Sprinkle a thin later of soil on top. Cover with a plastic bag and leave it on a sunny windowsill.

Hey Mu na, we won't suggest to keep the tissues in air-tight conditions as the seeds require a little amount of air too. So, you can just cover them with lid. BTW, it is ok to keep them in dark until the seeds get germinated🌱.

Check what you are trying to germinate. Many seeds germinate below the soil so dark is appropriate. But some do need light and only germinate on the surface and those I would put in a baggie.

Iam just feeling uncomfortable when you are pressing the soil after putting seedlings 😂 I tried with tissues, but they are getting mould and not working. I just plant tomato seeds directly into the soil, after some days, they sprouted. It's my first time, so I am excited to grow them.

Keep your tissue damp not wet. Many seeds sprout only in a warm temperature and I find the top of my fridge is the sweet spot.

No don't press the soil, let the watering process do it, let the roots find the spaces so they can breath, plants BREATH. Professional farmers Spend Millions of$$$ Aerating soil and you instantly try to smother them and set their grown back lol.... DID anyone notice the big chunk of soil pushed up imagine the energy that plant had to use to do that rather than put roots down..
