Disappointed, I was enjoying the content up until this point. 😬 Jointing compound on the threads… that’s a red flag that you don’t have an understanding of how a compression fitting makes a seal.

I've seen a lot of people point out jointing compound (dope here in the US) is often used as lube on threads as opposed to a seal when there are other sealing means on the joint. I started doing it myself and do find fittings go together easier with a little lube 😉

A plumber tried to charge me 130 to do this very thing. Needles to say I did it myself.

That's more than reasonable what did you expect him to do it for free? Numpty

Probably 1 to 2 hrs plus parts what's the problem
@johnsmith-ik8il Жыл бұрын
@@nindes it took me a few minutes: drained the system , unscrewed two nuts, replaced the part which cost me 7 pounds and tightened the nuts then topped up the system. You obviously don't know what you're talking.

@@johnsmith-ik8il a few minutes... doubt it took you that. Anyways you never said what you did with the fresh water you filled back up with.

Didn't need to drain the system, didn't need jointing compound. Do that on my sites and I'd kick you off the job

He should have PTFE on those threads 😂😂😂😂what a lot of nonsense
@ashleewainwright78777 ай бұрын
No 😂 jointing compound on the olive or a few wraps of ptfe , if it doesn’t get past the olive it won’t get past the thread simples. It’s a compression fitting not a threaded insert.
