They can be really sweet during that stage. When they get older they sometimes want to do their own hair or want one of their peers to do it. I hope she will know her mother will be the best one to do her hair or know the best person to do it for her if mom doesn't want to do it at the time.

A hair washing tip… I had three girls, I would have put them up on the kitchen counter, lay their head back over the kitchen sink, wash their hair using the sink sprayer, because they were small it worked like a beautician’s shampoo bowl, water flowed away from their face and eyes, and It was easier on my back because you are standing. Once done scrub your sink clean.😊

The aloe laytex is what makes us itch. The remedy is to cut the prickly edges off, slice it up, soak in water for about 15 minutes, rinse, add new water, let soak for another 15 minutes. Rinse until the water is nolonger yellow. From this process, the aloe is now usable for any recipe you want to make without the itch. Including drinkable aloe water 😊❤

Repost: In the Caribbean, we grew up swallowing slices of peeled aloes for our health (blood, gut, skin, and general body cleaning). And wash it down with water. The slime is just as good. An acquired practice. That same itchy slime we used on our faces when we broke out with acne as teenagers. As our faces became very firm/tight, we would wash it off, bearing the little itching because it was an indicator that it's goodness was penetrating our skin to treat with the pimples. And after washing and conditioning my hair, I pour the strained aloe juice (minimal water) on my hair, massage it in, squeeze the excess and allow it to air dry most of the times. When it's damp, I then twist my relaxed hair (heatless curls) in the Minnie Mouse style into 2 big Bantu knots. And I'm good to go as is for work or play. I avoid the itching on my neck by using a dark face towel around my neck to prevent itching and stains.

Your daughter is adorable and did a great job sitting in front of the camera without squirming during the entire demonstration which was very informative. I grow a lot of Aloe, just waiting for it to get big enough to start cutting it for my hair. If I may make a few small suggestions, 1. Use a towel around her neck to prevent any itching. 2. Use a twist tie without the metal which can help prevent the hair from breakage. FYI if you have a Dollar Tree near your area, that's where I get mine. 😊

The dismissive information about "the itch" from aloe vera is very concerning, especially when it's coming from an RN. That itch is caused by alum and can trigger severe latex allergy. SOAK YOUR ALOE VERA IN WATER BEFORE YOU USE IT.
@maryapatterson
@maryapatterson 7 ай бұрын
I am allergic to latex ie it causes anaphyalaxis! So even when I took two different types of antihistamine, my scalp was on fire!!! I can use Aloe Vera but I soak for 24 hours overnight to make sure the alum comes out. I have too admit, I too was a little shocked that as a RN she was very dismissive of the allergy. I would like to thank everybody who have advised everybody just to soak it first regardless. I was never always allergic to latex. Allergies can develop.

I'm on of those that gets a crazy itch when I apply Aloe Vera to my scalp and hair. How I've managed to work around that is, after cutting it into pieces, I peel it then soak it in a bowl of water for an hour. After an hour I refresh the water and soak another hour. I repeat one more time. So in total I soak the aloe vera for a total of 3 hrs before I use it. This way I get no itch.

I avoid the itching on my neck by using a dark face towel to prevent itching and stains.

No need for hours. The water has to stay clear and you’re done. We use it on my island for ever, never itching if you soak it for 10-15 minutes. How you know it won’t itch?? If the water stays clear✅

Great job suggest putting a towel around your daughter to keep the aloe away from her skin I think that would help with the itching. Good job

@angelealaahnaann4589 yes my beautician started using it 2 years ago and I was wondering why my hair stopped shedding and was growing like crazy and she told me what she was doing so I've been doing it twice a month and also started using it on my granddaughters hair and it has grown so much
