I'm a lifelong new yorker and chop cheese is not supposed to be anything special. It's decent but nothing special. It's what we used to get in the hood at the deli for a cheap. In south jamaica queens growing up i used to get a chop cheese and iced tea for 3.50 total. IDK why all these cats hypin it up nowadays when it's just some common food we used to get for cheap. Nobody went outta their way to get one lol.

I am a native New Yorkers and I'm not impressed about a chopped cheese 🧀. Now a Pastrami on Rye with Spicy Mustard Sandwich AND a pickle on the side from "Katz Deli" is quite expensive but I ENJOYED THAT 1 TIME I WENT THERE.

If you want good Dominican food, try D'Montazo in the bushwick area of Brooklyn. I recommend the Pernil, Ribs, Chicharron, and chicken and/or beef stew. Trust me, they season they stuff and you won't be disappointed 😂

Next time you in NY you have to travel to Atlantic City NJ. Hit the White House sub shop and Tony Belloni’s. Some of the best cheesesteaks.

Also if you ever come to Kentucky go to: Dad’s Favorites Shop in Lexington Ky. It’s only open on weekdays. Go on a Friday though for the Rushmore sandwich. Also get at least one grilled cheese made with their homemade cheese spread (they have several different flavors). It comes with soup to dip in normally tomato basil. If they have it get the Mac and cheese as a side. Also stop by Lils coffee shop in Paris, Ky. It’s located where an old pharmacy was and has the old dinner bar you used to see in old pharmacies. If you can get the tomato pie (seasonal in the summer cause they only use locally grown tomatoes). Get some of their quiches as well. Jam cake is also pretty good.

Marsellus Wallace( get extra ranch on the side), Keyser Söze, Paul Cicero are my top sandwiches! Their New England Clam Chowder is good and just everything that’s on the menu is bussin! Also, right around the corner on 86th St a few blocks away there is a pizzeria called L&B Spumoni Gardens. One of the best pizzerias in Brooklyn and their squares and vodka squares are just 🤤🤤🤤. I really hope you visit these spots!
