I believe that Coventry, Hiroshima, Nagasaki and Dresden are all twinned cities. There's a plaque in the ruins of Coventry cathedral (just up the road from me) to suggest so. Mrs. Flyer's Dudley Moore impression is superb. 👍@@TheMissendenFlyer

Another great episode. This trip just gets better. Starting off with that fantastic view from your Hiroshima hotel, followed by the visit to the castle. Then one of the most 'scenic' motorway rides. On a par with the M6 lake district section ( 'disclaimer' I'm originally from Cumberland ). Then a fantastic looking meal, the food seems to be getting better. But all this surpassed by the 'tour' of the facilities and the delicate 'tea' ceremony. How you managed to keep a straight face, unlike your co-host 😂😂, is beyond me haha. Can I, and Mrs H, take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy, and more importantly, a safe and healthy 2024.

Great series! Congratulations! Had the pleasure of going to Japan in 1997 with JLR for a month testing the Discovery II with BMW. We were based in Chiba City on the outskirts of Tokyo! What a fantastic country! Spotlessly clean, very polite people, disciplined drivers, crime free and beautiful countryside…..especially around Nagano and Mt Fuji. Would love to go around on a bike next time……although it’s always nicer when your employer pays! Looking forward to the next edition! Best regards to you both!

Well, that had everything, TMF. A visit to Hiroshima is never forgotten. The first section of the Peace Memorial is interesting, and somewhat like a history lesson, but then the second part ... the tiny tricycle, the school lunch box ... it's devastating. I thought you handled it sensitively. Then some lovely kaiseki, (how good is wagyu ?). And then Mrs Flyer's fit of giggles to top it all off. Nice yukata, by the way. Thanks for another enjoyable video. I’ve been lucky enough to have been to Hiroshima many years ago, I was just amazed at how they rebuilt the city and the train from Tokyo was amazing nearly 500 miles in 4hrs. Talking about trains, I was up in Buckinghamshire visiting family over Christmas, see that HS2 are still converting green fields into muddy quagmires with no sign of a railway line. Hope 2024 brings you and your family all you wish for.

What an absolutely brilliant episode in what is already a great series, to see the buildings left standing in Hiroshima was a solemn reminder of the sacrafices made by many nations during WW2 , the castle looked almost Disney-esk and reminded me a little of the Forbidden City in Beijing, I can't unsee you in the loo, but my therapist sends her thanks, Carol is a star, you should both just start a travel channel, you don't need the bikes as you are the best double act since Morecambe and Wise. Really looking forward to seeing more of Japan.

Beautiful view @4:30. Thank you for demystifying aspects of the automat type of restaurant. (It used to be a big thing in NYC in the 40's and 50's?- A few touches before my time). that delicious looking dinner and the toilet tutorial. Poor Carol had a case of the giggles. What a great ep 5 was, Carol still laughing now ? Andy are you having a Japanese toilet fitted when you get home,? Carol will be forever laughing . Japan is a fascinating country, clean, polite, looks lovely food, really enjoying the tour, keep it up, thanks for entertaning us.
