@@db3765 Are you hard of reading? I know Ireland welcomes everyone. The tourist hospitality industry in Dublin is now largely not delivered by Irish people though. The Irish tourist board will find it increasingly difficult to sell the craic to visitors if Irish people are not involved.

It's so true. I've honed my customer service skills over 20 years and being pleasant, smiley and personable really goes a long way. Even if I'm feeling sad, I put on my customer service persona and it actually makes me feel better.

Was in Ireland couple of years ago and was shocked, there were multiple areas judging by the inhabitants i thought i was in Nairobi or Karachi, i will not be returning.

My foreign relatives are always shocked by the quality and price of meat in Ireland, its about the only good value thing you can find. Beef lamb pork, we take it for granted here in Ireland, I've travelled a lot of places and would be constantly disappointed by the quality of meat abroad, even in supposedly fancy places!

@@tipptop9 the quality and taste of food is much better than the UK overall. I love how I can walk into a almost any shop or garage and find a deli bar. You just don't see that in England.

Amazing isn't it, I've travelled the World extensively and never seen anyone finish the last item on their plate, or last sip of Coke, anywhere else but Ireland. Wonderful, wonderful food finishing people.

Guinness is not a drink you get with a meal in my experience, also depends on the pub you're in whether it's lovely or rotten

Rule of thumb if the pub does food the Guinness wont be great, exceptions to every rule tho

That's a pretty daring generalisation. Loads of places sell subpar food. Good places with high quality food are massively overpriced. 14 quid for a shitty pizza is not value for money.

The quality of food in Ireland is dire and ridiculously expensive. Sure, you can find something decent, but your need a mortgage to pay for it. Paying 70 euros for 3 dishes at a chinese, which were far worse than the UK, and about twice the price, is common place throughout the country.

When I take the family to a chinese place in town we pay around 50 incl. tip for a dish each, some extra rice, a beer or two and some soft drinks. And it's delicious. I'd say you need to know where to go and avoid the obvious traps, just like anywhere else. Pib grub is actually very nice and usually high quality and affordable if it's not smack bang in the middle of temple bar or a half mile radius of it.

@@TP-mv6en You must be American? The Irish ( understandably if you know history ) don't think much of our (UK) past politicians and how they were treated by them. It doesn't mean all Irish people hate English people. I'm English, when I visited Ireland everyone was incredibly friendly to me, the vast majority of English people love the Irish, at least in my experience.

i just got back from mexico city and it was some of the most incredible food ive ever had in my life, it would be cool to see him go and try it too
