I did it with my slides and some how was able to do it for a few seconds lol. No broken bones but it did feel uncomfortable. Props to ballet dancers 🩰.

Gotta be careful with Amazon pointe shoes. Some of them are pretty good, but sadly they don’t last as long as we want them to. It’s a roll of the dice in finding the good from the bad (in my experience).

@@thegirleveryone4got380 To be fair I no longer live there, but when I did I really had to economize. You should have seen some of the places where I was renting. One of them was just like the K-Drama “Strangers From Hell”. My neighbors and landlady were terrifying.

I bought 2 different brands of pointe shows and I was fairly surprised with the quality, both works quite well. 1st came pre sewn, the 2nd ones I had to sew. Tho the ribbin began to unravel as I used them.

I live in France, and there’s a ballet store 5min from my apartment. It literally looks like an aesthetic dream. I can imagine that it would be really nice to live near a ballet store if you’re a ballet dancer. I also know that, for those who don’t live in cities, some people have to travel quite far to get shoes if they aren’t part of a company. So, I can imagine why some may order off of Amazon instead of going to a store, despite them not being great or potentially not good for you due to it not fitting right.

I feel like all the videos I've seen of these cheap shoes the shanks are made with a pre-arch that starts arching from right behind the demi, which is way, WAY too low and puts almost all feet in a knuckled position. I have no idea why they would do this. It's not even related to cheaper materials, it's a bad design.

When I bought pointe shoes off Amazon they were impossible to break in. But it was also for a stage play, so the actor wasn't supposed to go on pointe anyway.

No I wouldn’t, you need the go ahead from your teacher before you start pointe. I would see if you really wanna get back into ballet again and once your teacher gives you the go ahead get professionally fitted and buy real pointe shoes not these fake amazon ones cause i don’t want you to break something 😅😅
