@@ObaRichh I used the word "jump" for a reason. Sushi is for the brave, so is jumping in the pool. If peopple are not prepared for the full experience, they should just go stick with their familiar food then. What is this half way eating? It's just against etiquette. These are adults eating, not 3 year olds.

@SayWhat IThink the size of sushi and nigiri is specifically made to be eaten in one bite...that's literally why it is the size that it is. If you're going to a different country where there is a "right" and "wrong" way to eat THEIR cultural dish, you should probably learn the correct etiquette. Or you could be a fool and make ignorant comments about someone having a big mouth because they know more than you do about something simple that also happens to be common knowlesge like how a food is meant to be eaten. 🙄

The fish (coy) hanging everywhere are for Golden week. All children are off school for a week and a lot of businesses in small cities are closed. In the south (Iwakuni) it looks especially festive. I've tried sushi so many times and I just can't do it...even in Japan.

Loved the conveyor belt sushi place! And it's so CHEAP!!! The few restaurants like that that we have in the US are VERY expensive. If I ever get to Japan I'll have to try one out, and that weird pancake, which I think they call a "pancake" because it's really a cake baked in a little pan and has zero relation to what we Americans call pancakes. As a chef it's obvious to me that those little "pancakes" had never seen a griddle. Also, highballs? Really? You had NO idea that any drink made with just ice, one liquor and one mixer was called a highball by pretty much anyone born before 1950? OK... Learn something new every day.

7:28 No, there are IC chips inside of dishes. If there are some magnetic thing, it would weaken the magnetic force in the future and IF that is the reason for miscalculation in someday, it goes against store/shop justice for the customer. That's the idea of our Japanese people when someone takes someones money.
