Күн бұрынMy dad's Google Pixel 6 screen broke last week and I was tasked to fix it I first turned to Google Support which quoted me $179 with a 7-10 day waiting period. But then I remembered iFixit launched a Google Pixel repair program with parts, tools, and instructions available. The cost was $30 less and I thought it would make for a good video as I’ve never repaired a phone before. As a bonus, I would have everything shipped before the end of the week. So it was bought and I waited.

When your screen is cracked and the suction cup isn't sticking well, get some packaging tape and put one strip on the screen. It will allow the suction cup to get good suction so you can pull and get the plastic picks into the edges.

Thank you for posting this video, I'm in the exact situation as I just got my kit a couple days ago. Would've liked a video of the actual screen installation process though

Glad you liked it! The screen installation process was probably the easiest part since it was just the reverse of the previous steps so I just opted to not record it.

I applied the heat but it wasn't budging at all. Had to use a razor blade and basically slice through the clips. Didn't know that film was adhesive so didn't use it. The ifix instructions didn't even mention it on the website. And the suction cup was completely worthless.

how u made finger print/sensor calibration, does ifixt display comes with preinstalled sensor or does we need to replace with old sensor ,please help me regarding finger calibration as i am getting ifixt display its on the way .

Thankfully I didn't have to transfer over the old fingerprint sensor onto the new screen. The iFixit screen kit has the sensor built into it but it will need to be calibrated to the device. This was done by plugging it into my laptop and running Google's fingerprint support tool with it. I had no issues with calibration and it all went well.

Based on your experience with the screen replacement would you recommend battery replacement?

It shouldnt be that hard if you follow the instructions online. If you're replacing just battery, you need to be careful to to damage display when removing it. I used isopropyl alcohol to soften the adhesive of the battery. When I used it the battery come out easily

I personally wouldn't feel comfortable (since I'd probably accidentally crack the display) but many people would be fine to replace the battery. The main thing I learned is to take your time with any repair.

Yep! It's a genuine Google Pixel display but it's sold by iFixit.

That sounds like a display issue if it can't recognize any touch inputs to it at all. My best advice would be to contact ifixit and see if they can help get a replacement unit.

From my experience Iopener isn't very useful Its better to use hairdryer

Good to know! The iOpener took quite a while so the next time I need to repair something, I'll try a hairdryer.

How long did it take to receive the repair kit?

It only took 4 days. Ordered on Monday and received it on Friday.
