I was born in indonesia,but stay and work in US for 18 years…for Indonesian people sky cafe its okay,but the really good one is “awang kitchen” also in elmhurst. Highly recommend bro! You should try👍🏼

There is art in eating with your hand. Just like picking up with chop stick, to meet the power between two sticks so with fingers. Press the menu, to form it solid then push it with your thumb to opening mouth. Great thing is, we are freely to mix all ingredients served on plate since fingers are more custom to play with all menus. That is art of the taste we need. Lovely lively show you gave, thnks bro😊🙏🙏🙏

You use your fingers to make a cone shaped mixtures of rice and whatever else served on your plate. Then use your thumb to push it into your mouth.

@@timcophoto yes, around a month away from 4th of July (Aug 17th) is Indonesian independence day. There're usually bazaars and Indonesian food festivals, as well as performances, around NY and some other areas in the US. You may cover them 🙂 🙏🇮🇩

From sky cafe, I would recommend the Ikan Balado. It has a good amount of spice and it comes with a soup which I usually put on top of the rice, I don't like fish a lot, but for this dish, I make an exception.

in Elmhurst you should eat also at Awang Kitchen, and “Indo Java” a grocery store with the smallest restaurant in NYC. The kitchen only opened during Thursday (warung kamis)… for the upscale Indo resto you shall go to Wayan Restaurant in Manhattan

That's not the right way to count the price, Dear.... If you eat those dishes locally, then you'll get them for cheap price, because the transport cost are also cheaper... But that's not the case if you eat imported food! Transport by flight, plus import tax, etc. And how should you count for the value of the labour of love done by those people who works at the restaurant? Indonesian food is hard to cook! It takes costly spices, labour & time consuming (a whole day work!) to cook! You just get to conveniently sit there and enjoy it, consuming it for much lesser time compare to their labour... Like 30 minutes? You're also not paying for their staying fee in USA! Also, it's still could counted as "cheap", because the food could "transport" these 2 lovely Bro.& Sis. in no time to get to taste the Indonesia dishes for the fraction of a price compare to the actual air plane tickets price. There's a price for every valued item. Do you understand it now?
