TRYING INSANELY SPICY HOT POT IN CHENGDU, CHINA 🇨🇳

The fifth day of my journey around China, where I travel from Shanghai, to Chongqing, Chengdu, Xi'an and Beijing. I arrive in Chengdu after taking a short bullet train from Chongqing. I visit The Global Centre (the largest building in the world), Tianfu Square (with the iconic statue of Chairman Mao), drink handmade green tea in Chengdu People's Park, eat spicy local hot pot, and walk along Kuanzhaixiangzi Alley, all in one day.

Wow. Your videos are so informative. Going to visit a bit of China in Two months with my husband and his mom. Sadly, we'll only visit Beijing, Pingyao, Xi'an and Hong Kong, wich we did visit 3 times already.

Thanks for sharing this! I am headed there in 3 weeks, and I can't lie...i'm a little nervous to be solo traveling in a new region. It's exciting but slightly daunting to think of navigating the language and being out solo. I can't wait, this video helps solidify my choice in going to Chengdu.

It's best to have things planned out before you leave your hotel/hostel, as Google Maps isn't reliable in China, and most people don't speak English, so they won't be able to direct you if you need some help. I always made sure I had screenshots of everything on my phone to help guide me when I was out and about. You'll have a great time, good luck!

My mum really likes your videos and I started watching them as well. Now here I am starting from the very first videos. I really want to go to Chengdu by train now. I really like how you make the videos. They are so interactive in a sense. I feel like I'm standing right there. That is especially true for the Chenini video. Thanks for this very well made video! Glade you enjoyed Chengdu my hometown and my house is just next to the Global Centre. Feeling rather homesick now lol. REALLY miss the hopot as well. Here in England I can't find any authentic Chengdu hotpot, which is sad

Ive been to the exact railway station in Chongqing, and the same restaurant where you ate the hotpot! Very nice place, but all couldve been better if i didnt suffer from motion sickness :/

Hi, I am originally from Chengdu. You can take as many videos as you like. why there are so many police around is just because Tianfu square is normally full of people, it is an attraction itself, also because underneath the Tianfu square is the most busiest subway station. The police there just to in case any bad things happen :)

u should prepare some sauce for the hot pot. Chinese usually take the food out of the hot pot and then put it into a bowel filled with some sauce and then et it.

Jason Billam Travel Thanks Jason. I am from Chongqing. I also visited the wide-narrow alleyways in Chengdu and rode bike on the Great Wall of Ming Dynasty in Xi'an. That was in the summer of 2015. It was hot.

You could take videos as much as you want in Tian'fu Square. Those security guards and police won't stop you from doing that. They're there to keep your safety because there're just too many people there.
