The “rose” on the rice cake is actually a pickled Sakura (cherry blossom) flower. Pickled Sakura leaves are also used to wrap Sakura mochi, a popular sweet often eaten for Sakura viewing season.

Using Mike's videos as guide, I did a convenience store run with my friend when we were in Osaka - NO REGRETS! The food are as awesome and as "HMPH!" as Mike indicated. Hope I'll be able to visit Japan again soon. Stay safe everyone!

18:00 it's sakura mochi 🌸 (the sakura blossom is put in a salted water (afaik) to extract the flavor), and yes it's a spring specialty 😃🌸

Same here in Canada. I wonder if the relatively large geographical size of Canada and the U.S. compared to Japan make it much more difficult to get freshly prepared food like this into the convenience stores on a daily basis? Just a thought.... 🤔

Heath Lawrence actually here in northern Alberta the new 7-11 that we got is not bad....a lot of different stuff,including Asian stuff and it’s pretty good....of course there’s still the gross pizza and hot dogs but maybe it’s looking up for us in the West?

Honestly one of the main reasons I want to go to Japan is to visit a 7-Eleven and try the food specifically the egg sandwiches and onigiri but everything looks so good 🍙🍞🍜

omg this is exactly what i did when i went to japan. i went aisle by aisle and picked out all the foods. it's such a great way to get to know the culture and flavors. everything tasted perfect. the only thing is, not everything fit in the hotel fridge so i just had to binge eat. not complaining.. :)

love these 7 11 reviews. anyone who has been to or lived in Japan knows how important these stores as well as Lawson and AM/PM are on a daily basis. A cheap lunch or a beer, or even to get a candy toy fix. thanks for all you do. your food and travel shows have helped a lot when not able to travel during this situation.

I've been to Japan twice and I was amazed at what food was in the convenience stores. Nothing but delious meals without breaking the bank every time is great. :)

Fariz Fathullah Afma To be fair, most of Japan isn’t all tech-savy. It’s only like that around the cities. Once you go to the country side/rural areas, it’s like you hit a whole 180. (Although, most residents in rural towns are ages 50+)

A lot of gas stations in the US have crap food like “deli express” sandwiches. They taste like styrofoam and smell like dirty feet.

No, watching this video is motivation for intermittent fasting! When you g for OMAD, eventually you could eat 3 meals worth of food in one seating. That would look something like 3/4 of Mikey's breakfast and that is damn fulfilling.

Mike, the shower room could be the dryer room. Use it after your last bath/shower of the day. Check out the controls on the wall outside the bath room.
